Is it possible to change the MAC on on my xv6800?
 

hey guys,
I am needing to change the mac on my PDA so that I can access the secured wireless here at work. Going to clone the mac to an old company laptop i never use anymore.

I cant find anywhere in the registry to change mac address of my WLAN adapter. Im prolly overlooking it.

does anyone know where the mac is stored in the registry (if at all)?

If you are referring to your MAC address then you have to understand that is something that is software based but rather hardware based. I know there are MAC changing apps for PC but Ive never seen one for the PPC.

I haven't either. MACs usually are stored at the hardware level until spoofed.

Well shoot. I was afraid they were stored hardware level. Anyone know of a good cloning/spoofing program?

Again, Ive seen one and even think I have one somehwere but its for the PC and not the PPC. Just go to Google and use the keywords "MAC changer".

I'm assuming you don't have permission to have your 6800 on the network then? You could try asking to have you MAC added to the allowed devices list. I don't know about your job, but unauthorized access to the network is a fireable offense at my office.
