the charge will most likely show up on your next bill

i highly doubt you will be able to get away without a charge

So you're trying to exchange your old phone for a new one but not return the old one? No wonder Sprint is failing.

Not returning batteries or accessories is one thing, but keeping the phones themselves is a bit shady. I'm pretty sure that's going to catch up to you, either in your wallet or karma.

FYI, your account is noted when you do the exchange. It is done automatically. They will have something to say about it. BUT, I had a buddy whom didn't return his. Sprint contacted him and he told them that with his schedule he forgot(truth). They ended up telling him not to worry about it. New paper weight I guess.

Note: This is NOT why Sprint is failing. And to point out the projected future.....they WILL NOT fail. Sure, they will go through some internal restructuring but what company isn't at this point. LOL, funny how people are all doom and gloom at this point and time.

I love my Sprint plan and I still have a Mogul. Please, let's have less threads talking about / encouraging fraud.

I didn't return my 2 Treos 700W or 6700 and it was 8 months ago. No CHARGE!

You won't get charged. I kept numerous phones when doing free exchanges via tech support. What do they need an old device for?

Right! This thread is about fraud, not some touchy-feely discussion about the results of fraud.

Can we please get back to the topic of ripping off a company that we regularly make use of?!

Re: ok How many NEW Touch PRO owners Returned there old mogul (Advance Exchange onlin

Returned the mogul in the mail the next day. $55 exchange fee already showed up on bill.

People gripe about sprint, but they've always been great. Got 2 apaches for $200 when they were nearly EOL via retentions to replace ANCIENT VGA1000s. Got one swapped for a refurb mogul for $35 when apache dpad failed. Got Touch straight upgrade for $50 to replace the other (drowned in beer - long story) apache when they were giving those away last fall. Got this TP as a self-exchange for $55 last week when mogul finally got too wonky. Kid got a samsung 300 for free with new line, got a rant for $50 in a straight upgrade when the m300 keypad was txted to death 18 months later.

Sprint's always been good to us. We give 'em plenty of business, they keep us in nice handsets. It's all good ;)

Re: ok How many NEW Touch PRO owners Returned there old mogul (Advance Exchange onlin

i had to get 2 replacements, both came with issues, advanced replacement sent me a pro a few days.. i fixed the one(works as new, and looked it actually) really and activated it on another line i had...

honestly i called and told them i wanted to keep it and was willing to pay the 200 non return fee for it.. i figured a almost new mogul and NIB PRO for 2 bills is a hell of a deal...

added bonus*** when i set up that refurbed mogul on other line, they asked if i wanted insurance on it, so i was like, "yes i do"... if or when i finally get sick of it, ill just claim it out, cuz it has white spots now, and it be another Pro.. i honestly do like my moguls though, Pros have issues, so ill prob wait a long time to exchange it in..

this was this week, so i dont know yet if ill get charged, but im expecting too

OK----you guys are throwing me.....

What is "Phone Exchange" ????

I just talked to Sprint today and they want $550 of my hard earned money to upgrade to a TouchPro

No discounts because I haven't been in the contract a year.....

Is there some kind of discount with an "Exchange"????

Re: ok How many NEW Touch PRO owners Returned there old mogul (Advance Exchange onlin

Sent mine in the same night. Figured that "karma" thing would get me....well that...and the $200 fee. Man, I can barely afford my REGULAR Sprint bill, save paying two bills for not agreeing to terms. Besides, I might need them again when the Pre or Touch HD(U.S. Ver.) comes 'round...

Oh. My bad. Your thread and included poll led me to believe you were looking for feedback from other forum users. You know what might help? Change the thread subject slightly to make it clearer. Allow me to suggest some:

Besides me, how many of you new Touch Pro owners are dirtbags that don't honor your obligation to return your old Mogul?

Or maybe

My dishonesty multiplier is currently at 3! Woot! How do you compare?

Then again, you want to hear only what you want to hear so how bout this:

I'm a thief and I want to convince other people that there are no consequences by polling the success rates of other thieves

I'd hope you can come up with a good one on your own, but what the hey, feel free to steal one of mine.. no need to change your ways now.

Of course I returned it, they don't call it advanced EXCHANGE for nothing. If they wanted you to keep the phone they would have said so.

Yes you will be charged. She was wrong. You mentioned speaking to a rep, I thought you did the exchange online?

Re: ok How many NEW Touch PRO owners Returned there old mogul (Advance Exchange onlin

Big letters were in hope that you see the point. Looks like they weren't big enough.

The claim instructions explained what was expected. Your advance exchange arrived to take the place of the phone you claim were unusable.
They sent you a prepaid return envelope for the repairable handset with the new phones. That hint was lost on you. Not just once either. Three times.

And now that you've pulled a triple scam on Sprint, you somehow decide that posting about it would be a fantastic idea?! Seriously?
You've had days to think this over now. You can't possibly have thought that you weren't going get called out about this crap.

So what was it?
Were you curious to see if others had similar success? Wondering if the hammer had already fallen on someone else? Maybe you were hoping for some misplaced hero status?

Whatever it was, your choices that led to this thread's content have been nothing but bad ideas. If you just have to persist though, take it somewhere else where you will get the recognition you seem to crave. Godspeed, kid.

Re: ok How many NEW Touch PRO owners Returned there old mogul (Advance Exchange onlin

I've gotta admit that I e-mailed Sprint e-care to ask if I could keep my damaged Mogul as a backup phone, but I got a reply saying that I couldn't. Well, I'll be returning my old handset when my TP comes it. I say, if you want to keep your old Mogul, ask e-care. If they say no, then return it. If they say yes, then you are lucky. Lastly, if you don't ask, then just return it. Why risk it?

i think that pretty much sums it up fellas! its black and white. and once you ACCEPT these terms and decide not to return the old device dont be upset when you have to ACCEPT the charge on your acct FOR A DEFECTIVE DEVICE YOU DIDNT EVEN WANT ANYMORE TO BEGIN WITH!!!

Re: ok How many NEW Touch PRO owners Returned there old mogul (Advance Exchange onlin

Hahahahahahaa.

I've returned phones to Sprint before. The charge shows up on the 2nd bill, not the first. Its counted as part of the NEXT cycle. So you won't see it for around 2 months.

But after returning three phones (on two different accounts), its always two months later.

Have fun paying 600 bucks.

I procrastinated and waited a week to return mine (got the TP on a Monday sent back the Mogul the following Monday). A week after that they actually called to remind me I needed to send back the Mogul. Very nice girl (India Call Center sounded like). I advised her I had mailed it a week before and she said absolutely no prob.

Why isn't this thread locked already. I think the consensus is that it's stealing. There are rules about warez software but not fraud?

How much are they charging to send in the old phone and get a touch in its place? Is it a resonable ammount or are they charging you the full price of the touch?

Re: ok How many NEW Touch PRO owners Returned there old mogul (Advance Exchange onlin

i was told today that it will be $200 if you are sent a reconditioned phone(touch pro) or $579.99 if it's new and you don't return it.

Re: ok How many NEW Touch PRO owners Returned there old mogul (Advance Exchange onlin

I've read every post and I'm still trying to understand the gist of this thread. Is the consensus here that people have damaged/faulty Moguls and want the TP as a replacement, or that some people are not sending the Mogul back once they get the replacement? Is the gimmick to pay only $200 for the TP vs. the $579 on Sprint's website?

I use a Mogul and would love to upgrade to the TP, at least until the end of the year when the Rhodium or Whitestone show up. However, there's nothing really wrong with my Mogul. Has anyone gotten busted for sending in a perfectly good Mogul in exchange for a TP? Will they change the $200 to $579 if there are no problems with it?

I think the basic thread (if you will) running through this thread is that some people are basically thieves. Whether your phone needs to be replaced didn't seem to be an issue, although there is another thread here that talks about that exact thing. I love my Mogul too, but woulodn't turn down the TP. And I'm not. I have one waiting for me when I get home. I ordered it online through Sprint's exchange program. They didn't have Moguls and they were sending TP's. But there's no way I wouldn't send the old Mogul back. it's not my phone anymore. Apparently that's not everyone's thinking though. They might as well go to the store, bust the case and take the TP. Although I guess there's no chance of getting arrested if you just don't send the old phone back.
