Alltel and the 6800
 

Does anybody have a close idea of when the 6800 will be aval for alltel subs, as my 6700 has a nasty crack in the screen and would like to get it replaced with a 6800.

I wish that i knew if alltel was getting this or not. If they were i'd jump sprint for them in a heart beat. They are cheaper when it comes to txt msging and internet usage.

I have the data plan with Alltel and it runs me 29.95 wife has unlimited text for 19.95 too, i love it

Wow....you pay that much....I pay $30 bucks a month for 500 mins, unlimited text and unlimited data.....

lol yea alltels alittle high but they do have smart choice data plans that are great! I personnal have alltel and sprint. Alltels data is quicker. But im a alltel rep sooo.... I just got my 6800 with sprint and the alltel rep did say they were supposed to get it but didn't say when.

I called one of the retail stores and they are getting the 6800s, but no mention of when.

ur looking at and I alltel rep right now and I haven't heard any news of when alltel will be getting this phone.

So u are saying that you havn't heard of anything yet Wide? One of the

accessorie shops that i look at for my 6700 has a list for the Verizon 6800

already and it isnt' even on their site yet, which kills me. I really hope we

get this one, how far in advance do you find out about phones comming in to

the store days weeks? I really need to replace my 6700 but was holding off

hoping that the 6800 would be here in july or so.

So Altel has the 6800 now. I wonder what ROM version they will have and if we'll be able to gain anything from them?

Hey Dmac alltel has the 6800 now ill try to get you the rom version when i have a sec.. Its WM5 FYI

if you have the alltel 6800, a few questions...can you post a screenshot of the dialpad, including what it looks like when you are on a call? If it is different, perhaps someone can extract it and see if it installs on the sprint mogul.

also, does it have MMS software installed?

The dialpad is the same as the standard from the Bell 3.3 rom. It does have working mms with pics and vid. Helmi and CaptainYaeger already are working on the rom dump I gave them. So hopefully they will be able to get some good stuff out of it as my wife still has a 6700.

can you provide a link or screen shot of this dialpad or of the bell dialpad?

that's great, i belive those guys are usualy creating stuff for Apache and not titan.

I hope they will extract the MMS software for use with mogul, since it should be more stable than the mms alternative we have which was derived by another device (Treo I believe).

I am an alltel agent and we recieved ours today, I bought the first one we got. I have had it 3 hours and I am already in love with it. So much better than my 6700

I have a question for you. I got mine last week and it came with WM5, but there is another guy posting his has WM6 on it. Which does yours have?

Mine has WM5 but I heard that they will be releasing a free update within a couple of weeks (pure rumor)

Ikon this is the same thing that i have heard as well, I can't see why they wouldn't upgrade them as quickly as they can due to needing to get current with the other 6800s out on the market, glad to see that Alltel wasn't last to get this phone.. LOL

Yeah no kidding. I was expecting at least 6 months. I can wait a couple of weeks. Kind of sucks though, my wife took over my 6700 and she will have WM6 before I do with helmi's release on friday. Still like the look and feel of my 6800.

Bluetooth or other issues
 

I know there is a similiar thread related to bluetooth issues, but it seems to be dominated by WM6 users. Have any of you fellow alltel customers had any issues, especially with BT? Also, any word on an upgrade for us poor souls?
