So anyone else a mogul user and Mac OS user?

I'm on 10.4.10 and I can't get MacOS X to reconize the mogul as an actual phone or device to send files to(just the ability to use it as a hand set)

nor can i get it working with the missing sync for windows mobile 4.0 alpha..

anyone else?

Mac user here. I was able to pair it as a phone. I have not tried bluetooth tethering yet. I am contemplating paying for the PAM plan again to use that. I notice that 10.4.10 ushered in Bluetooth PAN for the mac, at least it did on my Core2 duo macbook. I find however on my mac, I cant send files to the Mogul or browse it, so this is pretty much useless unless I get the PAM plan and start using it as my mobile connection.

were you able to get it working with missing sync? anything special you did to get it to work?

it took a few attempts to pair it, but I got PAN working; starting the pairing from the mac works sometimes, but not always for some reason. Even though it didn't say anything about it when pairing, doing a "send file" from the bluetooth menubar icon will show the PPC as a device you can send to. Just pick a file and it should work. Also make sure you have accept incoming beams turned on, that controls both IR and bluetooth file transfers.

I've got it to work with no issues so far on the beta missing sync for WM6

did you ever set it up with active sync first? maybe i should hard reset mine and try again.. was it via usb or bluetooh with the new missing sync alpha?

It worked on the first try. Make sure you are downloading and using the beta. I also sync up to a windows machine when I have to install a program that only comes with a windows installer.

Yes that is what I meant. I'm using the alpha version of 4.0 and having no issues. I did use that program before I synced with a windows machine. On the windows machine, I am not syncing anything, but using it to install programs that only have a windows installer program.

He hit me up on im and together we finally figured out what was wrong with the connection between the mogul and my macbook pro core 2 duo.

We had to disable Connections/USb to Pc/Disable advanced Network Functionality


So if anyone else is having any trouble i'd give that a try.

How did you get the PAN to work with the macbook? On mine it has a spot for a username and password.

DUDE bluetooth pan on the macbook is super simple..

First make the phone and the macbook pair with each other, and make sure they are
trusted devices...

Then go to internet sharing on your mogul
select bluetooth pan
click connect
in the macbook click on the bluetooth menu in the upper corner of the screen
click join network or whatever it says under your devices name, then turn off
the airport
and you should be good

personally i just share the internet via wifi from my mogul, thats the best way...

as for syncing, I COULD NEVER get missingsync to work with 10.5... that could have just been me tho, but i just use parallels, since im always running windows on a separate desktop anyways...

New Rom working with Mac Os for Internet Sharing
 

Newest Rom is working flawlessly for Internet Sharing via TalynOne's wifirouter hack.

Mac OSX V.10.4.10 with the wifi router hack instructions followed in TalynOne's instructions. Works with my vista machine and at the same time my mac. Nothing was needed to set up the connection, as it appeared in the list of computer networks from the AirPort drop list. No help with syncing fles yet on the mac.

give usbmodem a try (works over bluetooth) then you don't need to pay for a phone as modem plan

Yeah man I figured it out last night lol. I was trying to do it through the macbooks PAN setup, then I realized hey, let me just try and join the network, bingo. Thanks for the reply anyways. I am sure it will help someone else.

never had any problems using missing sync with my macbook one thing is for sure tho i the video feature in missing sync does not work for me when syncing the ppc and the mac via usb chord and another thing never got bluetooth connection to work but long as the mac's file transfer bluetooth works thats all that matters.

Can you get files to push to the Mac over bluetooth? I can get them from my Mac to my 6800 but not the other way around.

I just use VMWare Fusion (virtual winXP) to sync my phone but use PAN for internet. There is a program that is free called SyncMate by Eltima Software (http://www.eltima.com/products/syncmate/) that can sync to the mac but I never got it to work on Leopard. It should be good on Tiger according to the website.

Yes blazing wolf i can bluetooth pictures from my phone to my mac, word documents and music i cant send videos though i dont know why havent figured that out yet.

Related question: When I use my PC and activesync, all my info is managed via MS outlook.

If I were to use missing sync on my mac, will I have difficulty going between outlook and Entourage? or are they basically the same program? (I've never used entourage before).

syncmate is not working in leopard....yet.

It should work. You might notice some duplicates every so often but other then that I really haven't had a problem.

Not true. I am using it in Leopard as we speak. One of the best programs I have ever used personally.
