text messages repeat send problem
 

anyone heard of this problem. i will send a text and then it keeps re sending itself over and over again to the same person. its driving my fiance CRAZY she thinks im doing it to be funny. maybe disable the text message failed retry option? help me out here guys!

never heard of this. unfortunately it might be time for a hard reset. backup your info first.

it happen to me before. it just comes and goes to whoever it wants to. it lasted about a day and went away but it was happening to everyone else that had sprint too so i dont know.

Happened with my 800W a couple of times a week. Called Sprint and no problems since.

well heres one thing that does it...

say u send a mesage and it fails, it auto saves in drafts as well, click the link to resend, the delete the errored message from the threaded txt..this should delete it from ur drafts as well, on stock 6.1 at least..

the reason for this is, everytime to soft reset, your drafted(errored only) messages auto send once you get signal on the restart..

i know not a major fix fo you, but it will cut it down..

oh yeah, also if you lose/regain signal alot(go in and out of roam) all those uncleared "resend now" message will resend everytime untill you deleted said erroed message

Ive had it happen a few times to me where I would get repeats from someone or vice versus. I usually reboot and Im fine.

I had the same problem the text was stuck in my outbox. I tried to delete it, but would not leave! Everytime I rebooted the phone, it would send the same message. After getting another remain phone, it went away. (5th remain phone in one month!)

If they are sending it have them clean out their Drafts and Outbox folders. If it is you clean out your folders. If you can't get rid of it hard reset.

I have had this problem, and the solution was easier than I thought.

I did this a few months ago, so I am a bit fuzzy on the specifics, but if I remember correctly, I just cleared the "messaging" folder located in the windows directory

The directory should be something like this: "device\\windows\messaging"

I just cleared all the files in that folder (excluding the attachments folder), and I believe that did the trick for me.

If it doesn't work, I apologize for having you delete all your messages in vain.

ive never seen anythin g for WM device like that.... which is funny on a cheap $10 phone, u can lock pic/vid,data,phonebooks,messages all individually...not the case on these
