hm... are you using version 2.1 ? I tried this with the Motorola 820's and although the sound comes out through the headphones (as expected, stereo headphone profile), it does not pick up volume from the mic in the headphones, but instead through the handset mic. Did you have to do anything extra?

What is the true costs of using skype if there are any?

I just want to know that if I use skype, am I going to be using my sprint plan minutes at the same time?

Is it just the same as using it with a land line where you are just talking over the internet and not being charged per minute?

Destructor 06-30-2007 10:53 AM

If you are using Skype through your data plan (or Wi-Fi) you will not be charged any minutes as you're not actively calling using Sprint's service.

Now, Skype has advanced (and pay) features where you can call a landline directly with it, and that costs money though Skype. But once again, it doesn't affect your Sprint minutes.

Only thing to keep in mind if you aren't connected through Wi-Fi when you do it - Skype tends to use quite a bit of bandwith, so Sprint might complain if you use it a lot during the course of a month. Frankly, I don't know at what point their 'unlimited' 'net becomes not-so unlimited.

Anyway - I tested out Skype last night through my Mogul (after downloading version 2.1 as 2.2 does not work as stated) and it worked great through my Wi-Fi network. I just needed a better wired headset as the mic in mine is a joke.

Man I don't see how you guys are getting it to work through bluetooth. It only works through my phone as speakerphone and the other person says they here a really bad echo (understandably).

Any tips on making it work completely throuigh BT?

when you pair the BT to your phone, did you select both options ?
(wireless stereo and hands free, or just one of them)
