6800 and Backing Up
Has anyone used Sprite Backup on it yet?
Every time I back up it's not able to save 2 files: *\Windows\compimeh.0409.dat *\Windows\HTC_SMS_RETRY_EDB_VOL Anyone know what these are? Should I worry? |
Well I can say this, the same 2 files are unable to be backed up on SPB as well.

Is there an advantage to either Sprite or SPB over the other? I need to get a backup app, but I can't really see any major differences between the two. I want to be able back up to the card and my PC, schedule backups, do full and selective restores, etc. Ideally I'd like to be able to upload the backups to an FTP server (NVBackup for my Treo could do this) but it's not a necessity.

i used spb last night no problems
|
Well Sprite creates self-extracting backups, you can backup directly from the device to the SD card, you can backup to a PC through the AS cable, you can schedule backups, you can select what to backup, etc.
I think it fits your needs... give it a try, they have trials before having to purchase it. |
SPB's are self extratcing as well and very customizable. Sounds like they are basically the same program, but I haven't used Sprite.
@wow - did your's auto reset when done? |
Im using SPB and the autobackup will not work. I have it set to backup on SD card and when It attempts to backup its exits the backup screen right away. Anyone else with this issue?
|
I have not tried the auto backup, it's not really a function I use...
I moved to Spb Backup after numerous issues with Sprite BTW. |

EDIT- today to do a manual backup I had to soft reset the device- the scheduled backup still is not working |
I got it to work now... if you are using a self extracting backup make sure compression isn't on. This solved it for me.
