tether to pc for internet connection..
 

A couple months ago I found a nice guide on how to setup your phone and pc to connect to the internet on the phone and be online on your pc, I can't seem to find it now.. anyone have the link or instructions on how to set this up?

Here is the short story. You need a proper USB cable connected first.
To set up your device as a USB modem:
1. On your device, tap Start > Programs > Internet Sharing.
2. In the PC Connection list, select USB.
3. In the Network Connection list, select the name of the connection that your device uses to connect to the Internet.
4. Plug in the USB Sync cable between your device and the computer.
5. Tap Connect.

When I try this I get an error message on my phone saying its disconnected, this is not the way I did it a couple months ago.. /sigh wish I could find that thread that showed how to do it. was something with connecting to the internet on your phone.. within 10 seconds of that plugging the phone into your pc and then doing something.. not what it was

when i set my phone to use as modem.i had to download the active syn program and set my phone up with a unlimted data plan.after my laptop is up and running i plug in the usb cable and the phone. it goes into active syn mod. i what for it to finish and then exit out of it. i go to internet sharing and then hit connect. sometimes it does take more then once to connect.

are u runnin WM6.1??? the cab file i posted on #97 worx on my 800w...when u go to this link...theres instructs b4 installing(check up da page sum)..follow them 1st then download the file in #97

i use ics control. it works fine with wifi, but i haven't gotten it to work with usb yet. it works great.

okay, found out how to do it.. found it on another site.

1. Have Your Computer, HTC Mogul, and USB to MiniUSB Cable handy.
2. Make sure internet connection sharing is not running on your Mogul
3. NO USB Cable is plugged into the Mogul
4. Open Internet Explorer on the Mogul
5. With the web page running, open the start menu and run Internet Connection Sharing
6. Ensure "Network Connection" is set to "Sprint PCS"
7. Select "Connect"
8. Connect your Mogul and laptop using the USB Cable
9. Allow windows to automatically detect and install the appropriate driver software
10. Browse the web and enjoy!

I had the same problem. The people at Sprint told me it was because I didnt have Internet Sharing on my plan....

Awesome!!!!! Thank you PDA Net worked great!!!! What others were suggesting did not work. Sprint has blocked us from acessing the way people who have TMobile or other providers. I called Sprint 2 times today to complain, that other providers are giving it free and sprint should not be charging for it!! They are working on it she said. But thier "Everything" Plan, does not allow for it. The Error that is given when you try, is because you have to be on a vision plan, which is the old system. so they said I'd have to cancel my "Everything" plan and put on a minutes package and add the modul service for $45 a month....Crazy!!! This works great and would recommend it!!!
