That's a great idea, but I agree. If you drop your phone at all, the battery cover loves to get as far away as possible - and the battery follows right behind (stupid design). (That new OnStar commercial about a cell phone being reliable after an accident made me wonder about my phone).

Anyways... maybe it would be possible to have some sort of memory card holder "installed" on the back of the cover. Maybe a holder similar to a SIM card holder (if it will fit).

But I definitely love the idea! Especially since the 8GB SDHC is only $15-$18.

I've found that the piece of Scotch tape that I use, holds the card in really well....that said, I haven't dropped my phone hard enough to have the cover pop off.

But if you wanted something that would hold better, you could try using a piece of electrical tape instead.

Electrical tape can be found in all sorts of colors now. So if someone is concerned about losing the cover and/or the card, maybe using a piece of neon colored tape would make it easier to find in the dark if the cover does come off.

The tape should hold the card to the cover, but if the card and cover did seperate, the chances of the card coming off the piece of tape itself are pretty slim(electrical tape is pretty sticky :D)....and looking for a neon piece of tape with the card stuck to it in the dark would be a lot easier than looking for a small black piece of plastic the size of a fingernail. ;)
