Re: So I got this message from VZW today

I was in a local vz store not too long ago. I had gotten to know the manager who is a great guy when he came in where I work a few times & I just stopped in to say hi. We have all our 32 business phones with vz after dumping sprint a while back.

While I was there, a young girl was looking at a 6800 & I overheard her asking about the gps capability. She obviously didn't want to pay for it as she had already said that even the unlimited data package was stretching her budget. She had also recently dumped sprint because of the horrible service, but vz does cost more than sprint so she was trying to get out as cheaply as possible.

When she balked at $10 a month for vz nav the manager kinda winked at me & told her "I didn't tell you this, but the guy standing over to your left might be able to help you out with that...."

I explained to her about unlocking/flashing etc & how it could void the warranty etc etc but she was quite excited and asked me if I could "help her out".

To make a long story a little shorter, she bought the phone & then followed me to where I work & waited while I flashed her phone to dcd 3.2.6 & then installed google maps. The manager also had me take a refurb phone with me & flash it for one of his employees.

Nicely done. lol, they hate me in my local vzw cuz i know more about the 6800 than any of em do and I've proved them wrong on several things.

It was funny the other day when i went in to pay my bill, i asked the guy standing there if he knew anything about the touch pro for vzw and he looked at me like i was speakin chinese. No one in there had a clue!

haha... I walked into a Sprint store the other day, talking about the ESPT and ESN swaps and they were surpurised that I knew what I was talking about.. Is it wrong to broadcast your knowledge of the phone?

If Verizon didnt charge for VZW Navigator, they would find another way to make the $10 dollars.. At least this way, knowledagble people can find away around it..

..

They don't care. I was in a local mall recently & stopped at a sprint kiosk just to check out the TP (they didn't have one) but I stayed & BS'ed with the tech who turned out to be a really cool guy who actually did know his sh**

We ended up swapping a bunch of tech info on unlocking/flashing/cracking etc & he gave me his cell # & email so we could keep in touch.

Funny, the ladies loved me at the corp store. They told me I should get a job there. I could help people with the Windows Phones because they focus more on the basic phones.
