VZW intro to WM6 on Jun 6
 

Hmmm... Got this email from our VZW account mgr:

"This is an exclusive introduction to Windows Mobile 6. We will have speakers from Microsoft, and Alcatel – Lucent for this event. This will be a great opportunity for you to get ahead of the curve on the upcoming demands for wireless in your company. It is being held at the Phoenix Airport Marriott on Wednesday June 6th, 10-2.

Please register at vzwtechnologies<dot>com<slash>Phoenix."

No mention of devices but it certainly implies something with WM6 will be launched soon. Why do an intro if you don't have a WM6 device? :)

To all you Verizon people out there, I found this interesting article (via dslreports.com) on how Verizon plans to compete with the iPhone directly with a device slated to come out during the "mid-summer".

Take or leave it as you may, my feeling is that the 6800 will be the phone that Verizon is talking about in the article. Hopefully for you guys, this is another sign of its release this summer. :)

I just signed up to attend this event. Im excited to see what they have to offer, hopefully the announcement of this new phone....

Ya, I know, I'm grasping at staws here, but anything to stay optimistic about a VX6800 release soon! 8) But, based on the link in UTSAFTW's post, it's probably some crap consumer iphone look-alike... There I go getting all pessimistic again! :oops:

is it possible that verizon could release this thing before sprint???

Does anyone know if OBEX will be disabled on this phone? That is the only reason that is stopping me from going to Verizon.

July is the current word. Don't have an exact date yet... Good news is the SKU is in the system.

is it possible to post that sku here?

I read over on pdaphonehome that the Verizon date is July 18th. Someone posted a file that listed a bunch of release dates. i760 will be July 4th I think, and the 6800 on July 18th.
