Keyboard is annoying after 6.1
 

HTC Mogul keyboard is annoying I have to press keys like O and space more than once, and space works when clicking the left side and just annoying things like that

I've noticed a change with my keyboard as well. a few of the keys multiply when typing and some don't respond without holding down. I didn't have this issue before the alltel 6.1 upgrade.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Yes, same scenario here. Also noticed battery life is less since the Alltel 6.1 upgrade. :(

There is a cab file that fixes this.....

Im gonna try and find it.


I give up..I had it on my pc when I had troubles with it. Seems to only happen to some roms. So I just attached it here.

I tried using the .cab above but my 6800 wouldn't install. It said there was already a custimization_tool installed but couldn't uninstall. I don't know what it is. I didn't install it. I just recently upgraded to the 6.1 rom from alltel.

Anyway, if others out there have the same trouble, I think I found the fix. I've been reading over at XDA and saw that one of the problems was linked to the word completion app. I disabled it and my keyboard seems to be woking just fine now. I don't really use word completion anyway. I'm curious if this works for anyone else?:scratch:

It seems there are a lot of minor keyboard issues with the Mogul... My Fn key was not working... Did a Hard Reset (other issues too), and it magically disappeared! lol

Have you tried increasing the repeat rate for the Buttons setting? This is usually the cause of keys not responding or "keeping up with your typing speed".

I actually did try looking for that setting before I tried the fix in my previous post but the only repeat rate settings I could find where for the arrow keys.

Just out of curiosity though, where exactly is the keyboard repeat rate setting? registry maybe?

I agree, I thought it was just me that had that problem...using the TP now, but I feel compelled to visit the Mogul thread, it has become a habit now....LOL

i tried mogul cab rovided above
a little better tbh notisible but sometimes no workbut

see right up there i clicked space by work and but but itdidnt do it. again see

and the bue second function dot is baaaaaaad

i've had to return multiple moguls due to the same issues. go ahead and take it back. if you have tep, it shouldn't be an issue.

having same problems. FN key barely works I have to press real hard to get it to work. also the multiple letters when typing happens. I tried hard reset but I dont know if it worked it said to restore to default and when it booted up wm6.1 came up. I know when i bought it i had wm6. also the work completion is off. and couldnt find the letter repeat function either. Is there another solution or do I really have to turn in to sprint store..and take my chances on getting another refurb device?

I have this same problem after 6.1 upgrade. It seems that my "." key and my fn keys are the ones most affected but it seems that my keyboard is all around sluggish now. It usually takes many more presses in general to get keys to be entered what a PITA!
