..on Sprint

Has anyone ever successfully gotten sprint to activate an alltel phone on their network. My dad has been on sprint for like 10 years and i want to know if they would do it.

I know it works the other way round but can't say, why what are you trying to take to sprint from alltel?

Sure, ANY CDMA phones can works on any CDMA network. The hard part is finding a nice rep to accept the phone's ESN. Good luck doing that iwth Sprint...

Again it is luck of the draw if you can get a sprint rep to add the ESN to your account.

Eh basically you need to talk to advanced tech support (not customer service or the yokels at teir 1 tech support), and ask them to put in a trouble ticket to have your ESN added. It's time consuming, and a bother for them to do. So yeah they're going to be a little reluctant.

Re: ..on Sprint

Advanced Tech Support? Lol. With Verizon there is only one level. And most of those reps are ignorant...Best of luck on getting another branded phone on Sprint :)

Re: ..on Sprint

so why didn't u just buy a mogul from sprint...or HTC... you can bring ANY unlocked(this is easy) phone to sprint.. even an iphone.. but they can't guarantee things like data.. if you brought a vzw phone to sprint it would work..as long as its unlocked, clean esn etc.. but they'd tell you the getitnow won't work... sprint will activate an unlocked iphone, just won't guarantee data usage..

just unlock it and try...unlocking doesn't harm anything so its not a hassle..get ur msl and ur all good.. its a WM cdma phone to another cdma carrier..it won't be a problem.. and sh*t sprint will even but you out of ur alltel contract to get you to sign..

oh and btw watch your wording because the way you asked first about this;wouldve been cloning... highly illegal!!! I know the feds busted my door down 10yrs ago for setting up clones for people... 702(vegas baby - unlimited phone numbers lol)

Re: ..on Sprint

You must be smokin dope! Sprint will NOT activate an iPhone. The iPhone is GSM and Sprint is CDMA. Show me proof!

Yeah, pass me some of that ****!

Can it be done? Yes.
Has it been done? Yes.
Is it easy to do? No.

Keep trying and maybe someone will add an ESN to their database to pacify you. It never hurts to try. Or to search...

Re: ..on Sprint

The only GSM phones that Sprint has are the Ace, 8830, i920/i930, and the very occasional V555. The only way I believe to activate a iphone on Sprint's network is to make it unlocked, then talking to someone in the international department with Sprint and getting a V555 sent to you and taking the sim card out of that and putting it in your iphone. But oh yeah, it's only going to work on roam or international roam which is very expensive. And oh yeah, Sprint's new policy states that your contract will be cancled if more than 500 minutes are used in roaming localy.

You guys have too much time on your hands and are ingnorant. Sprint offers their handsets for a reason. If you want the iphone do something about it and go GSM. But don't be complaining when your internet speed is crap even at their 3G (what a joke). Or how about the fact that you'll be overpaying for the capabilities. Ha! That piece is a neat parlor trick, and that's about it.

Sorry about the rant, I'm just tired about hearing about that phone. -Ddrake

Re: ..on Sprint

You hit the nail right on the head DDrake. AT&T is a joke. Some of my friends who are not very computer savy bought the iPhone. One of them had the AT&T ? Cingular 8125 and he loved it. He was going to dump his iPhone for it, sad thing was it broke in the process. But yeah, it is way over rated and is missing yet the most basic features. Although I don't really care for them, I actually have though about buying one just to have...
