Any one know if they will add the second camera? for video Calls?
|
It's never been on the specs, so even though I cannot be 100% sure, I can say confidently that no, they will not.

Bad news Guys,
Talked to Sprint Store Manager today said the 6800 has been delayed until OCT. Good news is they delayed it so they can release it with Microsoft Mobile 7.0. That is correct he said that Sprint will be the first to release a phone w/ MS 7.0. He also said sprint didn't want to come out w/ MS 6.0 on it if their was a new version of MSM in 6 months. That why they could save their clients the time of having to do an update. I asked if him is he new what was special about MSM 7.0, said it was top secrect. I had to turn my 6700 in for a 700wx, I couldn't go w/ out my phone until OCT. |

WM6 was just officially released a couple of months ago. I'm sure WM7 isn't even going to be released this year, let alone Sprint having a "deal" with MS to work with WM7 now and put it on a phone that was initially designed to have WM5. Funny stuff. But hey, I'd love to be wrong! Edit: Sorry, not poking fun at you gonzo84. If that is what the Sprint guy said, then I'm laughing at him for providing "false intel". BTW, welcome to PPCGeeks! |
What you didn't hear? Besides getting WM7 we'll also get Rev. XXX with high-speed porn!!!
I assume gonzo was being sarcastic and this is all a joke... |
Is WM7 really coming that soon? And if it is, we all know Sprint well enough to know that they have a 1 year testing process with a new OS, so I can't see them releasing the 6800 with WM7 in Oct, unless they've already had the code for WM7 for 6 months. I doubt they have, and likewise wouldn't hold my breath for WM7 on this thing. Especially since this means they'd have ZERO PDA's with WM6. Doesn't make sense to skip an entire OS generation from a retail standpoint.

Hahaha couldn't agree more...

Hey,
I was just passing the info I was given. Did I look like at him like he was crazy of course  . Now dropping a New OS that sounds like something MS would do. There is no big difference between WMS6.0 and 5.0. I did see the 755p in the store and it was nice but I'm a Windows man so. For as jumping to WSM7.0 he said they are delaying so there would not be a need to update. Thanks for the welcome  |

This is what bothers me about rumors of delays like this October release date. One site makes a vague statement about it and it gains speed, next you know there are stupid rumors like this be intentionally put out that totally mislead people who are anxiously waiting its release. Personally I think with all the speculation and rumors floating around everyone needs to take a step back, take a deep breath, and relax. Give this all a few days to play out....it may not be anywhere near as bad as the rumors are making it out to be.....and it definitely is not related to photn. :) Dave |
You're in Florida...the same state in which I was told that Sprint would never get the 700wx  Sprint reps at the stores are generally clueless so I wouldn't take anything he said seriously. :confused2:
|
Well that's odd... I'm also in FL and I was also told that no Treo with WM was coming to Sprint
|
See what I mean?
BTW...I heard that one too  |
LOL  atleast we can agree on one thing The reps in FLA don't know NOTHING LOL LOL.
Paragon: Chill I'm just stating what i was told. That's why I post the informaiton here because I knew you guys would be able to tell me what was fact and fiction. Either way we all will see when it comes out I hope in may b/c my wife wants it. Good Mothers day present just a few days late O:) |

I just think there is far too much BAD information being given out that does nothing but confuse decent folk who are only looking for reliable information about this release. Dave |
The Verizon rep told my wife in the store the other day that she needed the unlimited data plan to be able to connect her phone to the pc and transfer via activesync.

Are you serious? Now THAT is ignorant... |
You wouldn't happen to be in Florida by any chance?
|
2 more days.... what is the bids ?

I agree with phreybird, i think june or july. you know..... for that WM7 :D .
Just playing man. |
my sources tell me october.... i hope to ..... that my sources are wrong, but they have been reliable in the past...
./sigh |
just adding my 2cents too .. but I was told late june early july(which probably means aug lol) by my old store manager and I'm in jersey.. but my boy that lives in west palm works for sprint too and he told me oct.. so going back to previous post your right people in fl don't know _____ haha (i hope he's reading this post =) )

I won't even start to speculate if it's June, July or August... I'm just gonna say it's not tomorrow.

Screw this waiting.
I'm ordering an O2 Flame from overseas. It puts the 6800 to shame and I don't have to wait. ...Even though I have to switch to Cingular! |
I dont think anyone needs to worry about the release! Its already on sprint store planograms!
|

We are not all familiar with how Sprint stores work :( |
Quote:
It *was* on the planogram but after the managers meeting and yesterdays conference call, it is no longer ready for release. On top of the delay, the speculation is that the 6700 is being re-released until the 6800 TITAN'IC is ready to ship. |
I say it comes out today still there is no news about delayed there only one saying unconforme of delay so we will see

Well, the Sprint site has the Treo 755p variants on there now, but no 6800.. that's all the confirmation I need.
*waits patiently for his 6700 to show up* |
here's another angle...
what if Sprint is passing around the word of an Aug/Sept/Oct release for the 6800 so that people get used to the idea ... but, they've been working on the WM6 and/or RevA updates already and the 6800 comes out in early June. Then Sprint can say, "Look, we told you later in the year, but we actually got the device out a lot sooner." at least this is what I keep telling myself to counteract the agony of a long and drawn out wait before the 6800 is really released. :D |
That would be nice, but a user here who was able to get a test unit showed WM5, so my guess is that they are just really starting to test it with WM6 and RevA.
