HTC PPC 6800 (Alltel) WM 6.1 Stock ROM Wifi Help
Howdy,
I flashed my HTC PPC 6800 (Alltel) with the stock WM 6.1 ROM and so far am very happy. However, I am having a problem when trying to connect via wifi here at work (the University). This is actually the first time I really tried to get this to work. I've been waiting on WM 6.1 in hopes that this would work. Perhaps I am missing something. I turn on wifi, the secure network I want to connect to pops up, I have been told that we need to use WPA and TKIP. In that screen the "The key is automatically provided" is checked and greyed out. Supposedly that is the problem. Does anyone know how I can get that checkbox to be not grey so that I can uncheck it? Thanks in advance, Pete |
Re: HTC PPC 6800 (Alltel) WM 6.1 Stock ROM Wifi Help
Me again,
I forgot to mention that on the next screen following what I described above that under EAP type: Smart Card or Certificate The resulting error message is: Cannot log on to the wireless network. This network requires a personal certificate to positively identify you. At this time I don't have the certificate installed. However, I did before and it was still asking for a username and password. Again, any and all help is appreciated. Pete |

Did you ever hear from anyone or figure out the wifi problem? My HTC S620 came with WM 6, which I flashed to WM 6.1 in hopes of connecting to secure wifi networks, but haven't had any luck yet.
