alarm issue after travel
i recently returned from a trip to europe where i had set my clock to 'visiting' and selected the correct time zone and then set local alarms to get me out of bed.
my problem is, now that i am home, and have reset the clock to home and unchecked the alarm buttons, the alarms (i had two set on the chance i wouldn't get up) still go off on the european time zone. so i have alarms going off at 7:45 pm and 8:00 pm local (4:45 am and 5 am euro). i have tried selecting 'visiting' again and turning on and off the alarms there and at home, but nothing. any help or am i destined for a hard reset? thanks |

Did you set the time zone back manually?

Re: alarm issue after travel
Yeah, I hate the alarm function. You can use one of the many notifications editors out there to try and delete the dangling notifications that are still in your phone.

Well, oddly enough, this has resolved itself without me doing anything more. Crazy little gremlins.

Re: alarm issue after travel
I have had this issue as well. The last time it happened, I was traveling and had changed time zones just as you did.
Basically, Windows' Notification Queue gets hosed with both multiple entries (resulting in you having to dismiss the same alarm more than once) or with entries that shouldn't be there (alarm goes off at the wrong time). When this happens, I delete the Windows\clock.exe entries pertaining to the bad alarms from the 'Classic Time Based' section, and then rebuild the Notification Queque (although I think Windows will do this by itself). Poof . . no more bad alarms. I use Memaid to do this, but there are other apps that I understand will work just as well. |
