Re: Java (especially Opera) problems

You need to update / replace jbed. Version depends on what ROM you are running.

If running a stock Sprint ROM, do you have to uninstall (somehow) the old Java, or just install this cab? Is this only for ROM cooks?

This works great to, and it gives you a short cut for mini..

It is from xda's (gc14)

Hope it Helps

Thanks T M Z

Instructions for setting up Opera Mini in 1.2.6:

1. Completely uninstall any previous versions of either GC Java Pack or GC Opera Mini.

2. Install GC Opera Mini 1.2.6.cab,

3. Open Opera Mini located in "Start->Programs->Opera Mini" folder.

4. Follow the prompts and install. Once installed, a new link called Setup is created in "Start->Programs->Opera Mini." Opera Mini must be closed to run Setup.

5. In Setup, there are several configuration options that can be customized at any time, including switching back and forth between using Opera Mini and Internet Explorer as the default browser.

Re: Java (especially Opera) problems

I don't think you have to do any of that. If its Opera Mini you have an issue with, simply open Mini, go to Menu, Tools, Settings.

At the bottom of the Settings page, it says Protocol. If it says socket, click on it and select HTTP. Now click save and your issue should be all done.

This should cure all the freeze ups.

Thanks everyone. Problem solved, or at least it hasn't crashed again yet and I used it pretty extensively today.
