I don't necessarily think the stock ROMs are better, they're just inherently more stable, in my opinion. The stock ROMs are full of garbage that most people will never use. Once they're upgraded with the official updates, though, they're as reliable or moreso than anything else I've ran on my phones. SSORG87 is coming from the position of having a new phone & not knowing much about it... to suggest to him that he should jump into the kitchen & start mixing & matching features is dangerous. He sounds to me like a complete novice & is more likely than any of us to brick his phone. Before he jumps into the kitchen, I think he should try adding & deleting programs, first. He should find out what he likes and get a good bit of experience in using the phone... learn its weaknesses and strengths. After a while, he'll run out of memory and want to fix it. By then, he'll have learned a good bit & just might be ready to go cooking... The LAST thing I want to see is another person saying, "Help, I bricked my phone." Considering he's already posted a thread complaining that he can't even get the kitchen to run on his computer, and I'd say we're looking at a countdown to his phone being bricked... I'm not trying to diss the kitchen. It has amazing potential, but it is NOT for a person who just got his first ppc. again... just my 2 cents... Your mileage may vary, void where prohibited, see rules for details. |

I have three XV6800's sitting here. One has the stock verizon radio & ROM. The 2nd one has dcd's 3.2.6 & the 3rd has one I did myself with Touchflo. The stock verizon phone is BY FAR the slowest & least stable of the three. I'm sure that is partly because it boots with the least amount of available memory so it freezes up & needs a soft reset more often. ~John |
