No data connection

I just flashed to DCD's new ROM, 3.2.6. I guess it got rid of all of my internet settings. When I try to connect through my data connection, it tells me that I have no data connections available. I need to set up my ISP settings, but I don't know what I need to put in.
I just need to know what to put in when I go to add a new modem under My ISP in my connection settings.

Did you flash your carriers cab?
DCD does not install carrier settings.

Re: No data connection

hmm...

I just installed the sprint carrier cab, and I guess it did what its supposed to do... It changed my theme and gave me my internet settings, but when I try to connect it still tells me it cannot connect for an unknown reason. Also, whenever I try to connect, it takes me to a network logon screen, and tells asks me for a username, password, and domain. Where do I go from here?

Lsme420 08-29-2008 01:12 PM

Re: No data connection

Username/password all that you leave BLANK and hit the remember box.
The dial up # is #777

mrmarbles 08-29-2008 01:21 PM

Re: No data connection

Ok, just did that. It acted like it was trying to connect for a while, say 15 seconds, then did the same thing.

I recently moved to West Texas, middle of nowhere. Before, I lived in San Antonio, and had no problems at all. I was paying for EVDO, had a previeous version of DCD's rom, and never had a problem. When I got here, I wasn't able to connect at all, so the store suggested that I hard reset. So I did, and flashed to the new DCD rom. Do you think it has to do with my plan? I don't see why, but its possible.

Thanks for all the help thus far. I really want to get my internet up and running again.

Re: No data connection

Um now I'm kinda lost.

When you go into you connections and manage existing connections lets start there.
First: delet any SPRINT PCS #777 you have.
Second: click new.
Third: Name it Sprint PCS modem is cell line. Click next
Fourth: Enter #777. Click next
Fith: My connection page leave blank. Finished

Now start your internet. A window will pop up asking for username/Password again leave it blank and just click ok. You dont need a username/password with sprint.

Sorry about the 123 but its easier for me to exsplain when I do it like that. Not implying anything about you. :)

Re: No data connection

Oh no offense taken. lol Just tried that, and its doing the same thing. I'm lost.

Re: No data connection

Can you run the IOTA? I dont think Dcd put it in his Roms but the carrier cab might have.
Try to launch your dial pad and go to "Menu - Options - Services Tab - Internet - Get Settings" then press start to initiate custom NAI. You should see it do a IOTA update.

If that dont work I'm all out of ideas sorry.

mrmarbles 08-29-2008 02:47 PM

Re: No data connection

I hit start at the IOTA screen, it does start to do an IOTA update, but it gives me error code 1012. Data provisioning failure. Could not prepare vision services. :(

Looks like I need to do some more searching, or just hand my phone over to the guys at Sprint. Is there any reason that I wouldn't be able to connect because I have EVDO on my plan, and there is no EVDO coverage here in west texas?

Lsme420 08-29-2008 02:49 PM

Re: No data connection

Wait.....
Have we tried this?
First: Dial ##data#(##3282#)
Second Click view.
Third line down "User Name" should be your Sprint PCS email addy. EX: (MrMarbles@sprintpcs.com)
Is it?

Re: No data connection

for a 1012, usually the easiest thing to do is put the username and password in manually.

Read my solution for this issue in this post.

I keep hereing you have EVDO (Verizon) but your on sprint? isint that EDGE?

but anyway. it sounds like like you may need sprint to reset your data package,

or try installing the Carrier CAB again, sometimes it doesint take on the 1st install. if you run it again and it doesint ask you to replace the files. then that means it didnt install right the 1st place.

Re: No data connection

I dont get what ya mean but I do know I have never put a user name and/or password in when setting up a connection.
*Edit Just tried it again to make sure and left them blank and it worked on sprints network.

Re: No data connection

Installed Lenny's cab and the Alltel carrier cab. I have the option now for Pic/Video, however have absolutely no data connection. It instantly fails, cannot connect. I've checked all the settings, re-applied, hard reset, jumped through hoops of fire, even triple-checked my ##DATA# settings for username, etc.

I even went a step further in frustration and *228 OPT 3 (Activation). I can place and receive calls, send and receive text messages, but no data, no Internet, no nothing. What gives? It was working before I applied Arcsoft...

Alltel user here if you couldn't tell :)

Re: No data connection

In SA, right next to my signal icon at the top, it said EV. EVDO. Here, I'm not roaming, but since EVDO isnt covered here, it says 1x instead.

Just checked the ##data# screen, and my username is fine. I did notice that the home agent IP address is 0.0.0.0 Does that make a difference? I'm going to try reinstalling the carrier cab whenever I get a chance. I've got class in a bit.

If that doesn't work I'm just going to call sprint, and see if they can reset my data package for me.

Lsme420 08-29-2008 04:16 PM

Re: No data connection

0.0.0.0 is normal. Well at least I'll say its the same on mine.
Good luck man at least we got ya most of the way there.

Re: No data connection

Ok, just reinstalled the carrier cab, and it said that it had to remove the old one first. So I'm guessing it took the first time. Still no internets. :(

I'm going to call Sprint tonight if there aren't any other ideas on here. Thank you for all the help! Keep the ideas coming! lol

Re: No data connection

I have Internet after a hard reset with NO USERNAME, PASSWORD, OR DOMAIN in the Internet connection settings. The second I apply the arcsoft cab, it's dead. Hard reset back to working Internet... I'm very confused at this point.
