Re: Gps Help

After much trial and error, I was able to get GPS working on the stock ROM (3.35.671.9) by taking the following steps:

1) Download the Alltel GPS Enable program found here and follow the instructions:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...ght=alltel+gps

2) Install the latest radio, which at this time is 3.42.50 (can be found at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=415364

3) Install BAF GPS Toggle...this will put a GPS toggle program on your Today screen. Make sure it's set to GPS ON

4) Install HOLUX GPS Viewer v1.5, set the Com Port to 4, then click "Open GPS". It will start scanning. You will see a lot of gibberish like "$GPGA,,,,,0,,,,,,,,,,,". In about 10 seconds or so, most of the commas will be gone, then click back to GPS Status and you should have a lock.

5) Once you have a lock in GPS Viewer, then you can go into Google Maps and start the GPS in that program.

*I have found that this ONLY works outside of buildings. If you try to lock inside a building (near a window) it will not work. It does however work in my car.

Good luck!

I have the 3.37 radio with 20270 Kitchen. IDK how but there is an option to unlock GPS so you might try running BuildOS.

Re: Gps Help

Does anyone have the "Enable_GPS_Alltel_ppc6800.zip" file and can rehost it? That tripod page doesn't work anymore.

Thanks!
