Inbox says 1 new message, but i have no messages
 

I cant seem to fix this...
on te HTC screen for MMS theres 0, inbox 1, missed calls 0

i can clear everything...mms, text, etc and it still says one
this just happened recently and i cant fix it

anyone ever experience this?

I know there is a fix for it in the ppckitchen. however I have not seen it as a stand-alone.
It's a little program you run to clear your events.

Someone have the stand-alone?

There are several threads with various fixes depending on the cause. It seems to happen when using threaded SMS (or Codys Threaded) and a new SMS somehow escapes the software and sneaks onto the old sms stack. In that case, you can edit the following registry, setting it to 0. Then, when you click on the SMS icon on HTC Home, it should show the lonely unread text message.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Setting s]
"SMSAvailable"=dword:1

0=old style
1=threaded style

Be sure to set it back to 1. On my phone, when I had to do it, setting it to 0 took effect immediately and no soft reset was needed, but I had to soft-reset to get back threaded-style messaging.

Additionally, there are some other problems which can occur, which seem to be fixable by the following applications: FixUnreadCount - seems to be the most common "ghost sms" remover, Markallread - think this will work in even the above case, of a message slipping by the threaded application... but then you won't see the text it'll just be marked read, and no clue on the phantom email one.

You can also try this which unthreads messaging. After you find the unread message, just simply uninstall to rethread messaging.

hey guys
first i tried the fix unread count, in the text messages on the bottom where it said 1 new message, now it says zero. but on the homepage under the click where it has the text message icon in the middle inbetween mms and missed calls, it still says 1.

then i tried the registry one Drue posted, maybe i did it wrong but that didnt work either

Perhaps you misunderstood me on the registry bit. The registry edit is not the fix, but the method of accessing the default unthreaded SMS program. Once you make the registry edit, try to access your text messages. There should be one sitting there unread... all your other ones should not be present. If they are, something did not take (and I'd try a soft-reset then access them again). Once you read the message in unthreaded messaging (if one is present), then you re-enable the threaded messaging by editing the registry once again, setting it back to 1.
