I'd also be curious how to make these.. |
Re: Anyone know how to make a picture template?
Wow I really thought it would be easy when I first looked at it..and it probably is but I just cant figure it out..
I read a tutorial on how to make them but I still cant figure it out. Here http://www.modaco.com/content/smartp...-photo-themes/ That tutorial is just about 4 years old and all the images showing progress are gone so its really hard to figure it out.. Its something like an animated gif file though with some sort of layer mask. Anyhow if somebody knows how please share cuz Id like to make some myself. Or Ill keep trying to understand how to do it when I get a minute every now and then. |
Re: Anyone know how to make a picture template?
dang.. yea i think i read somewhere it had to be 3 layers but i dont know how to do that

Yes sir I knew Id get it...
Weeew I figured it out totally by accident when I was working on another animated gif file.. What I had to do was get an image in this case it was the fail stamp. And set it on a transparent background. Then make a new layer colored completely black on top of that layer. Now it will cover the first layer. Then I selected just the stamp on the bottom layer. Switched to the top layer while still leaving the selection active. Then I cut out the black which was on top of the stamp. Then the stamp showed through the top layer. I know I lost alot of people. I pretty much lost myself trying to write that.. I then saved as an animated gif file. In gimp there is a selection for frame disposal. Set that on cumulative(combine) and the delay to 0ms. Then your all set with the image. Copy that to the templates folder. And your ready to take some failed pics...lol So here it is in a zip folder. Edit: Heres the pic that I tested it with. |
Re: Anyone know how to make a picture template?
great! I knew I was missing something simple.... those directions at modico were hard to follow without pictures....
I had some moderate success, but the "failed" was just a slight embose on the image, so you couldn't hardly see it.... since I have the afternoon off, I may make some,,,, |

Im not sure where the setting is in Photoshop for the loop/delay of the frames and the frame disposal option... What messed me up was not setting the disposal option to cumulative(combine). After I figured that out it worked fine. Im gonna make those other stamps into some templates right now.. |
Re: Anyone know how to make a picture template?
Where is the templates folder located?

I made these but they dont look like that last one. I tried a couple of different things. Probably something with the color but Ive messed with it a few times and cant figure it out. The stamp is kinda transparent but still shows up fine. Some people might like it better. |
Re: Anyone know how to make a picture template?
how about a pwned/owned stamp.. im looking for a pic.. unless someone already has one

Hey Ray they are actually animated gif files not png files.
There is two layers with a 0ms delay and combined. And what makes it even weirder is the fact that black is transparent... Anywhere where you want the pic to show through has to be black on the second frame. The first frame has whatever image that you want on the pic set on a transparent background. Then where ever there is an image on the background has to be transparent on the second frame which is black. Im probably gonna make up a tutorial one day. I use GIMP so all the pics will be of that program but Im assuming Photoshop would be similar. Hey shaggy maybe thats where your going wrond using animation shop..You can save animated gifs in gimp. Once you save it as a gif file an option will show up to combine layers or save as animation. Then the next box that comes up has the delay option and the drop down list to combine layers. Hope that helps. Well I made that pawned stamp up real quick. This one came out fine like the first one. I still am not sure what happened with the second set I did the other day. Only thing I can think of is both this one and the first one started as jpg files. While the second set was originally gif files. Maybe Ill try to save them as jpg's and try again. |

I also noticed the difference with jpg's.. wonder if it has something to do with using true black... I think on modico there was a mention of using something besides #000000 |
Re: Anyone know how to make a picture template?
Sort of works on the Vogue too but you get some 'noise' along the top

Re: Anyone know how to make a picture template?
so is there a step by step instructions on how to make a template?
I tried the process but i failed many times. I just dont know what i am doing wrong my outcome always turn to be good on first shot, then on the second shot, it messes up the whole capture (ie it blends into the first shot and the frame) any suggestions? |
