Dialing Phone Numbers/Making Calls Slow

Hey folks. I am running no2chem's 5066 with a nice lean mean memory usage. The problem is my phone takes forever to get to the screen to dial numbers sometimes (like when texting) or when I get a text it slows down and will start dialing the number when I want it to just go to the dialing screen. Are there any suggestions?

how much free ram do you have?

As a rule 15-25MB so RAM isn't a problem. I turned off the tones after reading about that feature and it helped.

I have 5066, which is pretty lean.
