still need to regedit to unlock?
Hi all -
Looking at the regedit thread, I see the following edits are required to unlock the phone: 1-Unlock Phone (certificate security disabled) rev.1 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies\0000 1001 = 2 -> Change the value data from 2 to 1 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies\0000 1005 = 16 -> Change the value data from 16 to 40 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies\0000 1017 = 128 -> Change the value data from 128 to 144 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Security\Policies\Policies -> Add new value "0000101b": Dword = 1 Close registry editor and soft reboot. However, after flashing to the newset Sprint stock rom (3.56), the current default value for 0000 1017 is 160, not 128. Are these regedits still necessary to unlock the phone? Anyone know if I need to change 0000 1017? Also, in the newest ROM, the value for 0000 101b already exists. |
Re: still need to regedit to unlock?
huh havent heard of regedits to unlock phone.
All I have heard of is either olipro 2.40 or nueSPL 2.47. Which are bootloaders that allow you to flash custom roms.. Is that what you are talking about. |
Re: still need to regedit to unlock?
No, it is to disable security certificate requirements. From what I've been able to glean from reading the forums is that you need to do those regedits to allow non-official applications to run on the phone. I could have it all wrong and I might not have ever needed them. All I know is that I did them in the earlier stock ROMs, and now in 3.56, the values that the regedits say are the "orig" values is wrong for one of them.

Re: still need to regedit to unlock?
You should be able to run non-signed apps just fine by default. It might pop up a warning saying it is not signed when you are installing but that's all. There might be a regedit to disable this but they should run fine from any stock rom....

Re: still need to regedit to unlock?
I can't install non-signed apps at all in the new ROM, I had to hard reset yesterday and nothing installs if it doesn't meet the security requirements.
I used to have a cab that did this but now I can't find it. Any help with disabling the security certificate requirements would be most helpful. |
