active sync won't re-connect during BL upgrade
 

I am finally ready to upgrade my xv6800...I feel like I am ready to make the leap into the world of flashing...However here is the problem I am having even before I really get into the process....I run the olipro 2.40 program, and start the process. Everything is fine until it tells me to disconnect and reconnect the USB. After disconnecting, it won't re-establish a connection to active sync. I did a soft reset and started over again but same problem. I also went into the settings-connection-usb to pc tab- and unchecked the feature everyone says to uncheck, but still won't sync.

Guys any help would be appreciated...I should rephrase this to "unable to activesync in bootloader mode"....hope this sounds familar to someone.

go to start/settings/connections/usb to pc and if the box i checked uncheck it if its not check it if that dont work theres a cab fix for it and ill get it for you

Yeah I unchecked it and it still doesn't connect to active sync...the cab file that you mentioned sounds like the next step....Thanks in advance.

yeah i dont remember exactly where i found the cab at but i remember my phone wouldent sync and some one told me to give the cab a try and it worked im not sure what reg edit that cab did to my phone but ill keep looking for it

Try going into Device Manager and reinstalling the driver?

When you say device manager do you mean through the PPC or thePC sorry for the noob the type question....I connected my PPC to the PC and don't see a device mgr tab...sorry thanks for the assistance

hey, guys. I'm not sure i'm much help (put 2.40 on my phones when I got them (wow, it's almost been a whole year now...)

you may want to try no2chem's 2.47 bootloader. I haven't used this one myself, but I think it can be loaded from the SD card, so crAptivesync isn't involved.
also no2chem's bootloader will work with a Re-Locker he created so you can go back to a "real" stock OEM configuration before taking to sprint/verizon/ect.. for repair/replace/upgrade.

I'm on XP.....I'm starting to get discourage....I am not even into the meat and potatoes(check the mispelling) on upgrading and I'm already getting discourage.....help me out. I think I am ready to go but when I start the 2.40 unlocker when it tells me to disconnect and reconnect I lose my active sync connection. I can't even unlock the phone to get going....very weird..I didn't mention but I'm on a verizon network....much appreciation to all that have responded and tried to help.

wen it told me to reconnect i did. didnt get an active sync connection but ran the program anyway. worked fine

Yeah the program will still finish fine. As long as the bootloader screen on the ppc says usb on it which it should with the usb connected to phone and computer...When its disconnected from either it will say serial.

You will notice that when the phone starts to flash active sync disconnects and wont connect again until the flash is done and the phone reset..Then you'll have to set up an active sync partnership again..But thats only after flashing a new rom. Im not sure about the bootloader if you will need to set up a new partnership. All this is totally normal.

Just follow what it says to do on the screen to connect/disconnect at certain points. Phone should reboot itself when done. Then your ready to flash a custom rom.. I would recommend either the ppckitchen or any of no2chems roms for ease of use to flash custom roms though there are plenty of others available. All with certain positive and negatives about them.

If you run into any problems you could always flash to an official rom. Then try again.

Guys, I finally got it to unlock, I even flashed the new radio and rom....It actually went easy...I did not have to do anything extra, I guess the when I didn't see it actually sync i got nervous....just needed to be patient...I would like to thank everyone that gave me some input.

So I have Olipro - 2.40......Radio-3.42.30.....and DCD-3.2.2 rom
Time to enable this GPS.
