Delete Contacts
Sprint replaced my phone with a new one and replaced my contacts. When I connected it to the computer outlook uploaded all of my contacts again so I have duplicate. Is there a quick way to delete all contacts or do I really have to do this one by one?
Thanks :) -Kevin |
Re: Delete Contacts
well i think if you delete ALL the contacts on your phone.. maybe hard reset.. then hook it up to sync it will just throw them back on and POOF no doubles..

Re: Delete Contacts
It took me several trys to get my contacts restored *and* syncing correctly w/o doubling...
PIM Backup has a function to delete all existing contacts (or other PIM databases) before restoring. (Or just delete them if you're using another program / service to restore.) I think SKtools also has a 'delete contacts' feature. I don't trust it's backup or duplicate removal features though. I've had very weird results using them. Hope ya see this before ya do the delete by hand thing... Now if anyone knows how to delete contacts from Mail2Web's exchange servers w/o clicking each checkbox page by page, I'm definately interested. |
Re: Delete Contacts
An easier way to handle this would have been to uncheck the contacts box in your activesync options. This will remove all of your contacts from your device Then, from Outlook, you can sort your contacts by date added. Since the duplicates would have been recent you can just highlight them all from that day. Then check the contacts box again and your contacts will be synced, sans duplicates.
