Safely removing Mogul after hooking it up to computer
Is there any way to "Safely Remove" the Mogul or any other smartphone from your computer after plugging it in (like you would for USB Drives, for example)? I feel guilty just yanking the cord and I'm afraid I'll mess something up, but I don't see any alternative. Thanks.

Hi parth750,
Don't think there'll be a standard "Safely remove" feature just like USB drive, since the connection taken take by Active Sync or WMDC One way to ensure it's safe to unplug the device is to open Active Sync / WMDC, check the synchronization has finished and ensure you're not transfering any files to /from the device Cheers |

Yes, as long as it's not in the middle of a sync, there's no problem with just disconnecting it. I've even done it in the middle of syncing when A/S has been acting up, and never had a problem. Nothing to worry about :)

Re: Safely removing Mogul after hooking it up to computer
The 'Safely Remove' feature is specifically for USB storage devices and the like. This is because when they are unplugged, all power is removed and any data being written or read at that instant can be lost. This is not a problem for the mogul, or any other mobile device because power is NOT lost by unplugging the USB cable. The mogul has its own battery, so no data is at risk. Its still a good idea to make sure that your computer and mogul are not in the middle of a sync session before unplugging, but it won't damage anything.

Just pull it in the middle of a sync and especially with WMDC you'll get to watch it replace all your contacts for ab out an hour..... AS seems more stable on this.
