PPCGeeks - Shortcuts for the home page

I am looking for a way to put shortcuts on my phone’s homepage for programs that I use frequently. I have Ultimate Launch and HTC Home Plug-In. But that is not what I am looking for I have seen some screen shots and it appears to me as though the shortcuts are on the home screen without any plug-in. There are only a few programs that I use on a daily basis and even though the plugins that I have work great I want something a little different (yes I searched). I guess what I want to know is if this is possible or am I dreaming.
