I.E. is really flaky. Pages won't load.
 

I've had this phone for over a year and for some reason started having issues with internet explorer tonight. The phone connects to Sprint PCS perfectly but will not open up any pages in I.E. It says "The page cannot be found. Check the name and try again." Any ideas what in the world is going on? Believe it or not I haven't changed any settings.

Just checked with WIFI and everything works great.

Would you guess this is a problem with the Sprint Network? That's what I would guess except for the fact that it does dial #777 and show that it's connected. Can't figure out why I can't load internet pages with the Sprint connection if it's actually connected.

mine started doing the same thing tonight. i am in chicago and it connects to some sites sometimes but not everytime. must be the network?

Thanks a ton for taking the time to answer. I was checking settings like crazy and it was starting to drive my insane. I'll sleep better knowing it's not my phone.

I think its smth with sprint network. I'm getting smth similar on my laptop while tethering. With 50% chance pages won't open on first-second try. Few reloads and it works. Happens if I tether using my wife's a900 too. If I connect my work vpn it works much better, but drops connection occasionally. Been like that since yesterday.

Both my Mogul and my Mobile Broadband card are doing that too. It is really annoying. I tried changing my DNS settings to no avail.

Same thing happening here, except I've noticed something odd like this going on for a couple days now. I'm also in the Chicago area... I'm guessing it's a network issue.

I am in the northern suburbs of Detroit and am having troubles with the network. I've tried changing DNS servers and it's the same thing. Has anyone heard anything?

Yep, since yesterday afternoon the internet through sprint has been horrible. BUT, it is happening at home too and I have roadrunner. At work, it's great.

Downtown Detroit, tried both tethering with my Mogul and the Touch. Finally was able to get to some webpages but not others.

btw, here in iowa I have had no issues, but have only really used my phone to goto ppcgeeks and navizon.

MN Here - and it is still happening.

I noticed when I connected to a page, refreshing the page once or twice would allow it to load, definitely something going on with the Sprint Data network....

I don't tether, only use my touch to go directly to the internet and have been having this problem. its weird though because my girlfriend's centro works just fine, phones side by side....her connects right away, my touch doesn't....do you think this will fix itself?

I just got off the phone with Sprint. They claim there is nothing wrong. Go figure.....

Hello, I posted my findings in the other forum but the deal is this:

Dns lookups are somehow being blocked. I manually added dns entries to my host file for my regular sites and I am fine now. nslookup from my sprint phone times out over and over. nslookup from my work internet is perfectly fine. You can PING the dns server, but cannot get a lookup from it.

i have the same problem here in nyc.
glad i'm not the only one.
lots of time i cannot load a page in pocket IE and when i switch to opera mobile, i am able to load the same page. weird.

looks to be working here as well. I just tested pie, youtubeplay, pocketmusic and vtap. Very weird. I wonder what it was??
