skype on mogul 6800
 

On the skype mobile beta website, it does not list the mogul or htc phones. Is there any way possible to get it on my mogul?

It worked with WM 6.0, but ever since the 6.1 release it doesn't work, and I don't know of any fix for it yet. I would like to find out myself, I used skype everyday for work.

no known fix for 6.1, for 6.0 you have to look for skype beta 2.2.....look around and you can find it

I used skype 2.2 with the Windows Mobile 6.0 Rom. I tried the earlier version, but it didn't work with 6.1 either.

Well, I used Skype on the PPC6700 without any problems but it will not do any voice calls on my Mogul. I can hear the typical Skype sound before it connects and as soon I'm connected nothing but silence. Timer keeps running until I hang up or the call drops. Any Ideas?

although this is a bit off topic and not exactly the answer you would like, but I think there is a functional skype messenger program. I haven;t tried to make calls with it yet so I can't confirm whether it works or not, but I would try the free mobile app Fringo. It allows me to chat with my skype buddies successfully, maybe the calling works as well.

2.2 had issues with voice chat on the mogul, but previous versions of skype for ppc worked fine. I never used the voice chat, so I used 2.2.

I have been finally able to get Skype working and it took quite some time to find the right version. Skype 2.2.0.18 will work with your Mogul and you can make calls while in Wifi or 3G Coverage. (.cab-file attached).

I hope this will be of some help.

i tried hunter's skype in hope that it would work with voice calls unlike the skype i have now, but it gave me an error window. it said someting about directory something. help?

i've also had the same issues with skype not working since i upgraded to WM6.1. Did some research a few weeks ago, and even though its not exactly skype, im using a program called Nimbuzz which works as skype. Same log in info and all that. I've been able to chat with it and indeed make calls. Still the same deal though were you have to use your headset or else the sound will only play out of the speaker.

well hunterintusttin says that the software that he posted worked with his wm6.1 . did you try that?

After the yellow "download-progress" bar is filled up from downloading hunter's posted skype software via pie, I immidiately get a popup window that reads:

"The central directory was not found in the archive (or you were trying to open a disk other then the last disk of a multi-disk archive)."

At the top of the popup box it says zip. Could someone help me?

If you go to the skype website, go under the "use skype" tab and there is the mobile version of skype that you can use for your mogul. I have it downloaded to my mobile and have no issues. Hope that helps www.skype.com

Don't have any issues in Mogul with this version. Chat and voice work great.

Are all of you guys using the 3.56 rom? I am, and I can't get it to work at all. I was under the impression that it didn't work for anyone running Windows Mobile 6.1.

actually i am running htc's 3.35 rom. i havent updated to wm 6.1 because i have heard of several flaws with it that wm 6 doesn't. the only flaw i've found in hunter's skype software is that the voice calls have very low quality. but i've heard that it's normal for skype mobile to have that.

Have downloaded and will try. Assume you use your Skype login, but is that safe? Should you create a new login?

Well, I have nimbuzz and not clear what good it is for anything. Cannot seem to make calls to non Nimbuzz users? Hello?

no worky for me, I am on 3.56. WM 6.1. both device and card installation resulted in "skype unable to start" error.

I've used skype 2.2.0.18 with wm6.1, but not in os builds above 19209 (vogue)

Yup same error, I'm on the skype forums but nothing about the new rom and mogul.

Close the application and restart it. It should work. Had the same issue on Skype as well and I guess there is something that Skype needed to set.
