Wifi switch
 

Has anyone sucessfully changed the function of the wifi switch? I would rather turn on wifi via the comm center and use this switch for something else... maybe screen lock or my flashlight utility. I'm not sure if the switch is just an input to the rom, or if it is actually connected directly to wifi.

Actually, no2chem is working on this in his newest rom.

I hope they figure out how to port this hack onto official ROMs!

Bump...

I would like to see this in an official rom as well. I haven't ventured into the world of custom roms yet.

You guys may be waiting a while.....unless they hire NO2Chem.....take the plunge to custom...it is well worth it....:mrgreen:

I know its not very kosher to quote yourself, but... bump. Anyone have any idea if this is able to be imported into the stock roms yet? Is anyone working on it?

Not until no2chem releases the code and someone can cab it up. Then you can just install it on whatever ROM you're running.

Custom Roms>Stock Roms, I doubt you're official Rom has 24 MB free of Ram after a soft reset, or practically instant switching between portrait and landscape views.

To each his own. I don't really feel the need for instant switching, nor do I need that much free ram. I'm happy with my phone the way it is. I 'suffer' from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. To me, its much easier to live my life when I keep things simple. A custom rom would just be one more thing for me to obsess over. I would rather focus my attention to detail on other things. I suppose a good analogy would be... "you're offering an alcoholic his first drink for free." LOL
