Upgraded PPC6800 no internet and no EVDO coverage
I upgraded my PPC6800 following the procedures outlined in previous posts. Went smooth. My only problem is that I cannot connect to the internet. I've added all the settings and I get a message that says it cannot connect for an unknown reason. I've updated everything in QPST as well as my connections. When I enter an incorrect password I get an error says user/pass is incorrect, so it must be trying to authenticate.
I'm not sure if this is related but I get virtually no EVDO coverage since the upgrade. I've checked the PRL and I'm using the same PRL as before. I even reuploaded it just to be sure. Any thoughts on this? Thanks, Byrnie |

Try this.
Start>settings>phone>services>internet>get settings and Iota should run and resolve your internet problem |
Re: Upgraded PPC6800 no internet and no EVDO coverage
Go back into the EPST settings, go to security tab, & check your user name & password. They must jive with your carrier specific requirements. For example, my HDR user ID would be 5554441212@alltel.net, and the HDR password is my esn number. the PPP user ID is once again 5554441212@alltel.net, and the PPP password is alltel. See if this helps, if not you may have to flash back to your stock rom and start all over.

Re: Upgraded PPC6800 no internet and no EVDO coverage
I don't have the Internet settings option. My provider is cellcom. I'll try putting in the PPP user info and see if that works.

I just tried to enter the PPP user and pass and I get a write error. Any thoughts?

Re: Upgraded PPC6800 no internet and no EVDO coverage
What ROM are you running? If it didn't run the IOTA cab maybe try that to do the data provisioning. I've never had this problem, but I'm using nueROM 2.2 Pre-7 and always run the IOTA cab from extended ROM after a hard reset or flash.
I could be wrong though so please someone correct me if I am. Good luck. |
Re: Upgraded PPC6800 no internet and no EVDO coverage
You can always just flash back to your stock rom, and try flashing again. Make sure that you flash a custom rom specifically for your carrier, then *228 after flashing & hard reset to make sure the device is provisioned. Just back up your device to your pc using activesync, your problem is not a big deal, easily fixed.

Re: Upgraded PPC6800 no internet and no EVDO coverage
Thanks for the response. I just ran the IOTA cab and tried to do the provisioning but get an error that says "Error code 1012 could not prepare vision services please try again later, if the problem persists contact sprint". Is this a sprint specific item? My provider is cellcom.

Re: Upgraded PPC6800 no internet and no EVDO coverage
I don't have the original rom, Previously I tried flashing back to Alltel's rom but it causes a "no radio" error. Then ends up rebooting itself after about 3 minutes. So I went back to flashing the sprint rom, soft reset prior to customizations, then used ppc kitchen with 5060 rom.

Re: Upgraded PPC6800 no internet and no EVDO coverage
That's your problem, you're trying to use a sprint rom with cellcom service. Is there not a cellcom option in the Titan kitchen? I'm at work, so I can't look or I would.
**Wait** After looking at Cellcom's website, I see that it's a small local company in Wisconsin. Did you purchase your phone from Cellcom? If they sell it, you should be able to go to their website and in the suport section, find a stock rom for your phone. I just looked on HTC's website, but didn't see a reference to cellcom. http://www.cellcom.com/business/phon..._d2bda1b82235/ Maybe if you log into your account, it will give you a "support" option that will let you download a stock rom. I didn't see an option from the link above. |
