upgrading from 1.30.60 to 3.42.30 radio
 

This is a verizon xv6800. Just got it from insurnce upgrade because my 6700 isn't made anymore(thank goodness).

If I run the exe to install the radio, i get the color bars then it goes to the uplaod screen and then stays at ) percent like it isn't connected anymore. Then I have to reset it because the application guides me through it.
It slways gets stuck at same place.

What is the best process to do this upgrade. I am thinking to do it from the memory card, but the SPL app is for newer RADIOs only.

Suggestions on where I can go from here? DO I need to unlock my phone first? Is that my problem? This is new phone so it is a default setup and through verizon.

You run the 2.47 unlocker. Put the 3.42.30 Radio on a SD card, rename it to Titaimg.nbh and put it on the SD card. Force phone into bootloader and follow prompts. Build a ROM using the kitchen or load a custom ROM (search for)that is GPS compatable.

Make sure your microsd card is NOT an sdhc card, and it's formatted fat32 with an allocation size of 1028 or so. I had the same problem, and since I don't have a non-sdhc card, I had to revert to an older unlocker (1.02 or something), flash the new radio (with usb & my computer), then flash the newer unlocker (2.4x), and then I was good. If I'm not mistaken (and if I am, I know the flamers will pounce on me), you have to have at least the 2.40 unlocker on your phone after flashing the new radio or your phone OS will keep rebooting itself.
