Windows Media Player/General Music Question

I can't for the life of me figure this out on my phone. I put music on and it is playable, but it won't show up in my library. Which is a problem when I want to play all my songs on shuffle. This wouldn't be a problem if I could figure out how to put together a playlist.

Could anyone who knows about this just give me some general idea of how to do it.

Thanks.

Make sure in the library you are searching in the proper place. If you synced your music to your storage card you need to set your library to storage card.

When on the library screen just under the start menu flag there is a drop down with a little magnyfying glass icon. click that and select my device or storage card depending where you store music.

Hope this helps!

edit: and mods.... I think this goes in the Software forum?

yes, i would open up the Media Player. Then click the Right soft key, and then click "Update Library" see if that helps!

That was it. Thanks!!!

Another question...How do I get it to recognize the artist? I seem to remember it having something to do with changing the format of the file?

.mp3 will show Song name and Artist info, .wma as well. I think it's .wav that doesn't show information, or .aac (I don't think it's playable on WMP Mobile.) But I know for sure that .mp3 and .wma show Song and Artist informaiton.

Re: Windows Media Player/General Music Question

It helps if you copy your music from your 'my music' folder in windows (vista or xp) after you have ripped it via Media Player. This way, all of the information that it shows you in Windows Media Player will show in your Pocket PC version as well.
