Shorter SMS vibrate notification?
 

i am tired of the 3 second vibration every time i get e text but i need it to vibrate so i cant just disable vibrate. i did search and found the reg edit to change the length of vibrate but it only applies to incoming calls not text, so my phone rings with a 1 second vibrate which is a huge improvement but it still vibrates for 3 seconds when i get a text. i looked around in the reg a little but didn't find anything...

any ideas?

I would also enjoy this fix, that triple burst is too much. I know if i have cody threaded text open wen i recieve a text it will give me one longer vibrate wich is fine but if thraeded text is close i get a triple burst vibrate wich is louder for some reason. Any help would be appreciated..

wait what? you get 3 short vibrates? mine doesnt do that is always just a 3 second vibrate..

i usually have read the text before it stops vibrating

Maybe thats a phone problem. Mine, along with any other person that has a 6800, just has 3 short bursts.. It probably lasts 3 seconds, even with the spaces in between...

Yea I get the long burst when the app is open. When the app is closed I get the stupid triple burst. I would actually prefer just one short burst like you though.... that is the problem.

I'm surprised there is not a reg edit or even a little prog. that will do this... i mean the regedits i have found all change the incoming call vibrate, so it has to be possible to change the sms one too

BUMP i would like this especiall during class. cause the three burst is loaud as hell. and idk how to change this i wish i did tho. i have all summer to get this fixed before next semester and have it fixed so i dont keep getting in trouble. lol =P

This would be nice. I have seemed to notice longer vibes when I have certain SMS tones. Maybe that is just my imagination, but I swear certain tones have shorter and longer vibes..

I never even thought about doing this. At work, mine vibrates while I sit down and I get made fun of cause it sounds like I am farting.

I might just have to do a little registry snooping and see if I can find something.

what i do is that i put the volume all the way down. not on vibrate. that way it just has a short vibrate burst. you have to have the vibrate option checked for when you receive a text in the notifications thing though...
