2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter only does mono?
 

I have purchased a 2.5 to 3.5 adapter AND using it with the HTC Mogul supplied mini usb to 2.5mm adapter, I only get one channel. I use this to hook up my mogul to a tape adapter to to play music in my car. I only get one channel, I use the core player and just put mono join to get both channels but the real question herte is if I buy a mini usb to 3.5mm adapter will I get stereo? Please advise. Thank you. :(

I got my mini-usb to 3.5 adapter from eBay for $6 shipped (with car charger):

Works well - I get stereo. BUT - some people have reported that these aftermarket adapters can deform the mini-USB port, so I try not to use it all that often. I don't know which adapters would do that and which ones wouldn't (I'm sure there's more than one factory in China making these things). Seidio also sells an adapter, and their stuff is usually of good quality, but it's also much more expensive.

I recently did the same thing.....go to another electronics store..ie..Radio shack, there are two types of adapters, one with 3 conductors and one with 4...you must have the one with only 3, hence only mono....similar to the tip/sleeve on a regular headphone jack...or tip/ring/sleeve if you want stereo....hope this helps..

The same thing happened to me. I did the BT headphone registry hack from mono to stereo and now my wired headphone jack works in stereo...who knows how but it works.

I tried the USB to 2.5 mm that came with the phone with a 2.5 to 3.5mm adapter attached. The sound is stil coming from phone instead of the headpone/USB. I dn't know if it is because of the adater or my ROM.
