Micro SD not recognized by PC???
 

Okay guru's...after using my 4GB MicroSD in my Titan for a bit, I can't get my PC to recognize it anymore. I can access it with my PC through activesync through my phone, but that takes forever to load a full length movie etc...

I ordered a new card and the same thing happened. I think it's related to LiveSearch but not sure.

How can I reformat the card or whatever I need to do to be able to read the card via my PC again?



Edit: I just loaded the card here at work on a Windows 2000 machine and it recognized it just fine. Any ideas why Vista on my Laptop won't recognize my MicroSD?

so your pc wont recognize it at all?? are you getting any errors when y6ou plug in the sd card to your pc???

It just sits there and searches. I will click on the drive and it sits there forever until I unplug the card...then it wakes up and says "please insert card in drive (blank)"

I can plug my camera cards into it just fine. I have 2 4GB cards and they're both the same problem. They didn't start out that way...it just happens after I use them for a little while.

Any thoughts?

I know there's an option in windows mobile to encrypt data on the micro sd cards. Do you have that enabled?

definitely on the right track. turn off encryption and it should work fine.

I had the same problem when I stepped up from my 2GB microSD to a 4GB MicroSDHC. I got a new thumb drive and it reads fine now. I was told the old thumb drive wouldn't read HC cards. I bought a new one from Radio Shack for $8.

it's because it is a micro sdHC card and your computer doesn't have an adapter built in. All you need is one of sandisks new micro sdhc adapters and then it should work fine.

Install this driver on your PC.. it is a microsoft hotfix, that enables older PC's to read the SDHC cards....
