Female USB to Male Mini-USB Adaptor for Mogul
 

I was wondering if anyone knew of an adaptor to go from a Female end USB to a Male end mini-USB. For example, to plug in a USB Flash Drive directly to the Mogul. I've been looking for months, but haven't been able to find anything. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! :)

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but to my understanding, you can't connect other "drives" to the 6800.

I don't know. Isn't that like connecting a storage card? My only thinking is if that Mini USB will interact with a flash drive. Why do you want to do this?

Well the easiest thing would to just make one yourself.

Take USB cable with female connector and connect the two to make your cable

true, i thought of that, but i'm still unsure if it will work. I want to plug in my 4 gig USB drive to my Mogul instead of using my 4 gig micro sd.

no, it will more than likely NOT work. that being said, what your wanting to do has only become a reality recently, the industry has named this usb On-The-Go (OTG)

the problem is that both phones and usb drives are usb "clients", and need to connect to a "host". there are a few pda's and mp3 players that have this OTG technology where it can act as a host to the client drive.

I am assuming there are hardware requirements to do this as well as drivers.

No.1 reason this won't work = usb drives need 5vdc, and I don't think the phones can do this.

edit; doubt that adapter would work as if this were to be possible you would definitely need to swap the send/receive signal... serial I/O 101

edit2... wonders if the diamond will be usb-OTG capable as it doesn't have a card slot.

I can just about gaurantee that Windows Mobile will not work with other devices via USB. If it could, there would be a whole market of accessories to go with these phones.
