Problem with Internet Sharing and the new official ROM
 

Maybe its just me, and let me know if it is. But normally when I open Internet Sharing, I have the option of using Phone As A Modem (which costs money through sprint) or using the Sprint PCS internet (free with my employee plan) to share to whatever it is connected via the USB to.

Now, when I open the Internet Sharing program, I dont have any options, it only uses the expensive P.A.M. function.

How can I resolve this, as this was one of the primary features I have kept this phone for.

Get a registry editor tool and go to HKLM\comm\internetsharing\settings. From there edit the key "ForceCellConnection" so that it says "Sprint PCS". Make sure the settings save and then you should be good.

Isn't that just changing the name of the connection, and not necessarily the type of connection?

I've been using phone as modem and I have sero and I had never been charge at all so far no worries and I don't have the pam plan added just regular sero account

Well I get an Error message
Error Code : 67
Error Code 67 registration failure. your PCS Vision username and /or password may be incorrect. please try again.

ok I dont even know my sprint PCS vision Username and password... I have the Simply Everything plan...Help Anyone?

I had this problem myself and i called customer service (sprint). she told me i needed to upgrade my plan to add the phone as modem line which cost around $40. So i just used the program "ishare_over_wifi_usb_edition_v0[1].2" and it allows you to select your Sprint PCS connection instead of just defaulting to Phone as Modem. I didnt copy any of the dll files for the wifi address, as this enables you to use internet sharing over your wifi radio. without copying the dll file you stilll are able to use the usb sharing and bluetooth sharing. big thanks to whoever is responsible for this program.

just go download the internet sharing connection cab and it will replace everything like it used to be. I did this because I couldn't stay connected with the isc in the new sprint rom.

Where can we find the internet sharing connection cab?

I too am continuously getting the error 67 and to input my username and password. So I put in my username and password and then hit the connect and it used to work and now it doesnt work. I even tried opening up a website and then clicking connect but it still gives me the data call failure.

It worked in WM 6.0 but now I am using 6.1 and it doesnt work.
