HELP: Wifi switch broken. Can WIFI switch on with software?
 

My wifi button is broken. Actually, I am not sure if it just the button and the device itself is broken. Currently, the device is not respond when switch WIFI on.

My question is, is there a software or register hack to switch the wifi on?

Alright, here's the deal... This WILL work, if you have the Wifi switch ON. If it's turned off / stuck off, it won't help you. It's worth a try though if you can still turn the switch on/off.

Download the program in that thread (you have to register if you haven't already), then read the 4th post for a registry edit...

Once you have those done, you can control Wifi through the Comm Manager.

my wifi still does not connect. it seems like its about to connect and then stops. ive tried this and many other things and nothing has worked.

I agree with that the WiFi can be activated and enable with out the switch. I can do mine in the comm mngr with the hardware switch off.

However, Cellardoor, you say it is about to connect and then stop. Can you give a more accurate description? Does it go from 'connecting' to 'available'? Or are you getting something else. Are you trying just your home network or other free WiFi spots like places of business and such?

I believe my switch wore out. its in the on position and shows on the phone that its off. i cannot manually turn it on via the comm manager. i even downloaded the comm manager at the top of the page, to no avail.

take it into sprint. I had the same problem and it turned out my wifi switch came brand new and broken. take it in. I read a post from a guy who works on moguls, and he said that out of the 8 moguls he has worked on, the ones with wifi problems were due to a factory construction defect (something about to much sauder on a contact). I took mine in and now im on my 2nd mogul and this one works much better

sprint is working it out for me. Theyre replacing my phone and giving me a brand new one (i bought mine used from a friend :) ). There was a small fee of $55 cause i dont have equipment protection. But thanks
