Alltel Evdo Rev A Prl
I was wondering if anyone knew the difference between the following PRL for Alltel..
30031 - EVDO Rev A for Phones (this is the one that you get when you *228 on an ppc-6800) 40036 - EDVO Rev A for Treo's and Data Cards I believe. I think this one has expanded sprint Rev A roaming? I have toggled between the two, and roaming on the 40036 outside of an alltel area, I receive a can not place call error when I try to place a call sometimes... I know EVDO should have nothing to do with 1x which is how your phone calls? Anyone have an insight? Any alltel employees?? |
Re: Alltel Evdo Rev A Prl
your right, my prl was 30008. and now it in 30031 after the *228. in el paso sprint in and verizon have evdo. but alltel is still at 1x until hte next quarter. i wonder if i update the prl well it orce it to roam on sprint or verizon data?

Re: Alltel Evdo Rev A Prl
I have manually updated the PRL to the 40036 on my ppc-6800 and I have gotten EVDO Rev A in sprint territory where there is no Alltel.
You can download the newest prl at: http://corolada.com/prl/ |
Re: Alltel Evdo Rev A Prl
how do you install it, and how is it working out for you? does it still let you receive phone calls and what not?

Re: Alltel Evdo Rev A Prl
nevemind, went over to xda and found out, must say works great.
##775 and send 000000 is the code Edit PRL - Browse device (should be on your memory card) Apply, and the phone will reset. OR *228 option 2 (this might load a different PRL, not sure) props to customshopkv1 @ xda |
Re: Alltel Evdo Rev A Prl
I just updated my Titan's prl to 40036. I'm hoping this helps me in some of the fringe reception areas I use my phone in. Probably not, but it can't hurt!

Re: Alltel Evdo Rev A Prl
So far I see no difference in moving to 40036 from 30031. I always did, however, have pretty decent reception where I have been testing it. I was hoping it would help me out inside the building where I work, but it appears that our building is simply a black hole for RF signals. Oh well.

Re: Alltel Evdo Rev A Prl
Alltel 40036 will not hurt your device at all, in fact it will just let you roam in sprints network coverage (el paso tx) it will not affect signal at all, start rocking with signal!:headbang:

Re: Alltel Evdo Rev A Prl
when you cant place a call do you have a solid roam triangle or a flashing triangle or no triangle at all?
I have the same no call issue with full service etc but only when my roaming indicator is solid... |
Re: Alltel Evdo Rev A Prl
I have the problem with a flashing triangle roaming indicator.

Re: Alltel Evdo Rev A Prl
I'm down here in Orlando, FL and I just updated my phone to WM6.1, added 40038 as my PRL to my PPC6800(Alltel) and everything works great! No roaming triangle, all my calls work sending and recieving, 1x works, Ev works, rA, works great too!

Re: Alltel Evdo Rev A Prl
I had issues with the 400xx PRLs.

Tried both 40036 and 40038... Both work great, but still show that damn blinking triangle... Currently using the 40038 as it appears to be the most recent. |

8-19-2009 Newest PRL

The Alltel/Verizon folks wanted everyone to wait until daybreak for this PRL. I am in a Market that was suppose to transfer from Alltel to Verizon. I have a smartphone and performing the update with *22896 gave me this PRL.
