mogul, red green blue screen?
I came inside and my phone started going crazy. It was scrolling through my contacts and calling without any input from me.
I did a hard reset and it reset and started doing the same thing. I did a soft shut down and then removed the battery. Now i get a screen that is red up top with TITA100 SPL-2.06.0000 CPLD-9 a green blue and white below with serial in the white. After many resets it booted up once and went crazy again. I assume that this is the bootloader screen that I have read about but I can not get it to leave this damn screen I have run the titan exit boot loader app but it just restarted it and now its back in that damn rainbow screen. Im sorry if this is a dumb question but I have been reading for 3 hours and have not found anything. I have not installed anything but tom tom and htc home plugin opera and sms ninja. thanks |
Re: mogul, red green blue screen?

Re: mogul, red green blue screen?
I have read a bunch of threads but they all flashed their phones or updated the radios. I have done none of this and tried the titan exit boot loader app and it still does not work. I have searched and read for hours with no luck.
I have asked in chat several times and someone told me to get a sling box to fix it (lol). What should I be searching for. I searched for exiting bootloader and a couple of the treads I found said flash the boot loader but I would like to avoid that if at all possible. sorry if I am asking a dumb question. |
Re: mogul, red green blue screen?
I got the same screen not too long ago, then all hell broke loose as my phone became incredibly sluggish and now the phone won't even cut on fully or if it does it totally freezes mid-screen! I have some applications but none of this started until after I added the audiopara app, now im totally stuck and trying to figure out if i need to just get a new one or try and fix it myself, but im leaning towards going to the store and trying to trade up!

Re: mogul, red green blue screen?
I have had it for less than 2 weeks. Im amazed that its having these problems. I should have come here before buying it.

Re: mogul, red green blue screen?
I would try flashing or getting a replacement because you probabley have an internal error, or your rom software decided to spaz on you. Probably the first one. If you have insurance just go replace it now, if not they will charge you 55 dollars to replace it. Hope this helps, if you wanna try a new rom pm me your phone model and whether you want a lite which is limited pograms but fast, or heavy many programs on your rom memory but slower.

Re: mogul, red green blue screen?
Once you get it to the splash screen, try upgrading the rom using the rom available form your service provider. If it's Sprint, I've had to use their online chat with a representative to even find the link. Their site sucks.
If that doesn't work, try getting it to the USB Serial screen & then re-rom it. I had similar issues with my Apache & this worked. Once I got it to boot properly, though, I found my battery was dead. I replaced the battery & all was well. Hope this helps!! |
Re: mogul, red green blue screen?
I'm having this same issue, and it won't do anything. I can't turn it off even with a hard reset. The only thing that turns it off is pulling the battery and when I put it back in, it goes straight back to the rgb screen.
Did you ever find a solution for your problem? |
Re: mogul, red green blue screen?
Search for stuck in bootloader thread. It has all your answers.

Re: mogul, red green blue screen?
The exit boot loader program did nothing for me, and I can't get an activesync connection OR a windows mobile device center one either.
I'm seeing if I can do anything with a MicroSD card now. Any suggestions beyond the ext bootldr idea? |
Re: mogul, red green blue screen?
It's a hardware error. It will keep coming back. You should have never purchased a Mogul... trash phone...

I like a lot of other people thought the shortcomings of the 6700 would be solved somewhat in the Mogul. Not at all, there are fewer problems in the 6700. The only thing that keeps me with the Mogul is true GPS and more storage. If it weren't for that, I'd be out. |

The TP is my 3rd and probably final HTC DESIGNED device. HTC designs for the spec sheet, not real world usage. They cut corners to save a few pennies per phone and we get nailed with insurance deductible and device repair price increases to cover the high failure rate. The only way I end up with a TP2 is the same way I ended up with a TP, a free replacement. |

That's nothing new to me. I know the Touch Pro has issues. It is such a shame. I have played with the Vogue though and it seems to hold up great. Only real issues is some dark spots can occur. Really though, the Vogue will be my last HTC Device. I just find it rediculous that these Asian-based manufactures cut corners in every posible way. What makes it worse is when Verizon cripples an already limited phone... |
Re: mogul, red green blue screen?
I have had my Mogul for 11 months. It has worked fine and I have been happy with it. One day I also got the Rainbow color screen. I have never loaded any custom ROMs. What i found is that the isue is with the serial connection on the device. as stated above, when I plugged in the "Y" cable that has the round 1/16" headphone jack, the device would boot up fine. :headbang: It will not boot with the dual USB "Y" cable. Not sure why? (I hate the strange USB connection and the fact that I cannot get a 3.5mm headphone connection:protest:) Anyway. I also had issues with the active sync function. the USB cable was fine as the phone showed charge when connected to the USB port. I swapped to the Dual USB "Y" cord and Now when I plugged in the junk USB headphone that came with the phone into the USB "Y" cord Active Sync worked. Not sure Why but I need it to work until I can get a replacement. I may see if there is a loose connection on the USB connector on the device. If you care for the device, the only part that gets wear is the connector. (I have a Invis-a-shield screen protector on it so the screen is still perfect!)
I Hope this helps someone. |
Re: mogul, red green blue screen?
Same rainbow screen, but mine has a workaround. In my case, here's how it's happening and how I get around it:
When I press power button to turn phone on: Get Red Green Blue White screen with ROM info and "Serial" in white. Through much trial and error I found out that when this happens: 1) Remove the battery to turn off the power 2) Replace the battery (phone will stay off) 3) Plug in a USB charging cable 4) Wait until the amber led becomes solid indicating charging 5) Turn on power button The phone will boot normally and not get stuck at the rainbow screen The bad news is if I ever push reset or power off the phone I'm back to the rainbow screen when it comes back on. I've tried different batteries. In my case it's very repeatable, I'm planning to take the phone into the Sprint store. I also have many other issues such as a flaky keyboard (double or triple keys sometimes, no response other times), keyboard backlight is completely out all the time, randomly loses all sound including phone earpiece & speaker requiring reset. Thought I would share. |
Re: mogul, red green blue screen?

Re: mogul, red green blue screen?
shkoehle, i have the exact same problem. so weird... i've had my phone for about 11 months, and use it pretty heavily, especially opera mini. phone is always charging when i go to sleep, and on the second battery.
this morning, woke up and the phone froze. hit the soft reset, and up came the red green and blue screen. anyway after a couple hours of fiddling around, googling, reading forums, and a hard reset (which wasn't necessary), i figured out that either a usb cable plugged in from my computer, or as you describe, the combo headphone/usb "Y" cable will allow it to soft reset and skip the red/green/blue screen. this is a very repeatable process for me. does anyone know what is causing this? why such a strange symptom? i agree with other members who've stated on this thread that the usb/charging jack is subject to lots of use and wear. a buddy of mine had installed SPL-2.40.Olipro or something like that on my phone, and it's really served me well over the past 11 months. i was wondering, if i run the nueSPL-Relocker to get it ready to take into Sprint, will it still get to the red/green/blue screen, and require that "Y" cable to reset? or is the symptom somehow also related to the modded rom? thanks all. * in the meantime, i guess i can carry the "Y" cable around in my pocket as well :) Quote:

Re: mogul, red green blue screen?
My phone is having the red, green, blue and white screen problem and I am able to get around it by just plugging in a charger or the wired headset. The other thing i noticed on my phone is that the sound is not working. If I do a reboot ... the sound will work for a little while, then it stops working. The sound will work if i plug in my wired headset .. which is a royal pain. Anyone else having this problem or have a solution for the no sound on the mogul? I didn't if you guys that were having the red, green, blue, white problem were also having the no sound problem.

Re: mogul, red green blue screen?
I think you are having a hardware failure Burt. Time for a replacement.
|
Re: mogul, red green blue screen?
that's what i was afraid of! Here's something interesing i just noticed, like the red/green/blue problem, if i have something plugged into the phone, the sound will work just fine. Once i unplug it, the sound for works for a little while then stops working.
Any chance the port on my phone just needs to be cleaned out ... and if so, what should i use to do it? |
Re: mogul, red green blue screen?
Check and see if the pins are bent. But I say hardware failure. If you have insurance then a replacement is free
