HELP MMS not working
So i am new to the whole upgrading my 6800 and i need some help. I have a verizon XV6800 and i have added a few things including the touch cube and HTC home plugin. All of a sudden receiving MMS messages doesnt work. It comes up with no object and it list the sender as a bunch of symbols (like MS wingdings). any help would be appreciated!

Also when sending the message it says my message exceeds the sending limit of 1k and the file is 29k. I have sot reset the phone over and over again and nothing..

are you running an upgraded ROM or the stock ROM?

stock rom...still trying to learn about messing with this phone so i didn't dare mess with the rom

do you know how to check ur MMS options?
if you do go to your server options and make sure these are the settings you have Server Name - Verizon Wireless Gateway - (Blank) port number - 80 server address - http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms connect via - Verizon Wireless send limit - 300k wap version - wap 2.0 you may or may not be able to access these setting if so these are how mine are set and they work fine...also I don't have either the the programs you mentioned its possible one of them may be causing ur problem |

well i can pull up the regular mms options with preferences and servers and about listed. Servers has nothing in it.

Is there a server there? There are a couple things. Can you send MMS first off? does it dial out (#777). you can check the MMS in 3 places.
1. the server, if you are still unable to edit it, its probably ok, but ill show you how to open that up in a sec. (the reg edit so you can open the settings...hklm/software/arcsoft/arcsoftMMSUA/config/UI/enableserveredit (0 to 1) 2. you can check the registry. You need a registry editor. total commander is free and works fine. the file is below. then go to: \\plugins, registry, HKLM, software, arcsoft, ArcSoft MMS UA, config, mm1, WspHeader...then Accept : application/vnd.wap.multipart.related User-Agent : utstar67kv1 X-VzW-MDN : your 10 digit number 3. make sure you can dial out for data. -start-settings-connections tabs-connections-manage existing connections: edit the connection, the number to dial is #777, user name is your10 digit number@vzw3g.com password vzw if that doesnt work, back up your contacts/calender and try a hard reset... |

So all the info in my registry is correct except that this line isn't there
X-VzW-MDN : your 10 digit number Any ideas? I really dont want to do a hard reset. by the way, if i hard reset will i loose all of my modifications including the cube and htc home etc? |

you cant use MMS without that line so put it in. go to the folder where it should be and click +add value+, then type in X-VzW-MDN exactly like that (keep it on string), then click ok and put in your 10digit phone number...click ok to get out and try it then.
and yes...hard resetting will erase everything you have done and put you back at the begining. |

Thank you all for the help...I did a hard reset and it was obviously fixed. I then added all the extra hacks and tweaks and it didnt work again, so i reset again and install them one by one untill i was happy and the mms worked. I guess thats what i get for trying to tweak too much...thanks again!

There was some sort of mini-outage yesterday. My MMS dropped, and vtext.com could not be found. After a couple of hours it all came back and I was up and running again.
Not sure if it is related or not. |

One thing, I have a key I don't know what it is "hmac-md5-key ph1uzoe52iuw" would you know what this is for? |

Hope this thread's still being checked. After flashing my 700WX (VZW) to Landon.Epps Full ROM-Verizonized (WM5), I've lost MMS capability. I checked for my MMS server and cannot locate it on my device, so I can't verify if settings are correct. I looked around in the registry for HKLM/Software/Arcsoft/etc, but it appears Arcsoft is not even installed on my device. Ideas?

I suppose the next obvious question to anyone would be do any of the ArcSoft .cabs work on the 700WX, or are they just designed for the 6800?
