Re: Are You Reading eBooks?
I like reading eColoringBooks... because I like more pictures and less words. Though it is hard to color the pages and not get marks on my screen...

Re: Are You Reading eBooks?
I only do ebooks.. hate tangible items.
I do dislike reading them on a 2.whatever inch low res screen. i use foxit reader as most of them are in pdf, its a pain. anyone know of a way to convert pdf to regular text format? |
Re: Are You Reading eBooks?
This will let you convert pdf's to word on your PC then you could either convert word to txt or ship the word doc to your phone and use word mobile.
Think that would work for ya. http://www.hellopdf.com/ |
Re: Are You Reading eBooks?
I have tried these "converters". PDF to CHM. PDF to HTML. PDF to Word. They all suck. They look nothing like the original and end up being over a gig in size which is not a feasible solution for a PPC.
Any other opinions? On how to read your favourite PDF ebooks on your PPC? |
Re: Are You Reading eBooks?
mobipocket reader which is free. Has a free utility to convert pdf to ebook files and it works great. Before I found this software, I was converting pdf's to text which was a pain.

Re: Are You Reading eBooks?
mobipocket is good...
I'm still a diehard audible.com fan though... over 100 books in audible format but no good way to convert them... and no good method for bookmarking mp3's... well mortplayer works alright i suppose. |
Re: Are You Reading eBooks?
Another vote for Mobipocket's mobile and desktop clients. Able to read, convert multiple formats, and sync them to your PPC. Remembers your last page, click a button to advance or touch the sides of the screen to turn the page (requires checkbox option in settings). It also has the option to auto scroll, with configurable speed, so you don't have to press a button or touch the screen.
Audiobooks are great too, but I don't find them practical on my Mogul. The battery life with the lack of bookmarking, as mentioned, is a downer. Much prefer my iPod for audiobooks myself. |
