could i use this "provided i already have the 2.5mm - 3.5mm jack" an wire these RCA's to my auxiliary ports to my indash clarion's brain unit, or something like that an have some beatdown in my trunk all through my mogul..??

i bet they sell some kind of direct mini-usb to AUX port cords. i would recommend looking around for one. i blew my stereo using a 3.5mm jack extender from my ipod, and i wouldn't risk it with all those connectors.

i can tell u right now it's not going to work. you have to get an adapter made for htc phones cuz there's an extra pin in the mini usb which a motorola adapter won't have

My wifes headphones that came with her motorola phone wont work with my phone so this probably wont work because of what Mike said.

i bought a cheap 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter and use the htc usb to 2.5mm

Yes, that should work. However, depending on the adapter you have, you may only get sound out of one speaker (left or right). Test this by plugging in a normal set of stereo headphones and see if you get sound out of both speakers. I purchased an adapter from radioshack and it doesn't account for the third contact (mic) so I have to plug it in halfway to get sound out of both speakers.

Something like this adapter would probably be a great combo with that cable:
