1x calling issue
 

Can anyone tell me why when using my phone, it goes to 1x when making a phone call? Once I end the call it goes back to EVDO. I am using the PPCKitchen with Windows 6.1. Anyone else have this problem or is it a problem??

Voice/Text use 1x it is just standard protocol that is the way it is, it is not a problem.

What PRL is your phone running, and how long have you noticed this for... a few causes could be again the PRL you have or possible upgrades or work being done in your particular coverage area.

normally when this type of switching occurs from evdo to 1x it is only a temporary thing that will self-correct after a few hours. Once it self-corrects you probably wont experience it again.

my advice is to wait it out before looking into any other solutions.

That's incorrect. Evdo will only revert to 1x when something is interfering with the evdo signal. Evdo enabled phones should not switch to 1x as a 'norm'.

You're 100% wrong. EVDO is DATA ONLY. All calls and texts are 1xRTT.

OP, your phone is working perfectly.

Well sorry I've never seen my EV icon switch to 1x when i make a call... that was my understanding of his 'issue'... sorry OP your phone is working fine I suppose.
