please help!Storage card gone-random file left? any ideas!
 

mods: didn't know exactly where to post this. sry..

onwards...All my storage card files have disappeared. it's a 4gb kingston SDHC. all the files are gone except one file and 2 new folders i've never seen before

one file: labelled "f" and about 819MB in it. modified last on 9/19/56??

two folders: labelled "3" and "f33f" with nothing in either of them.

is everything gone for good? is the card forever corrupt? :-s

This has happened to me as well... actually on several occasions. A soft reset brings the data back. It doesn't appear that the data gets corrupt... just the display of it. Very odd.... I'm also searching for the cause and hopefully a fix.

I had an issue a while back where I popped out my card and popped it back in only to have no files recognized. I was bummed until I popped it into a friend's blackberry and it read everything. I think something must have been in the middle of writing when I removed it because once the BB re-initialized the card it was all good to go from there.

Does your computer read the card and all its data? If so at least you can copy it off and restore it to the card.

I have no idea. im sure this post will be good for others, but ive since learned to always have my storage card backed up.

I would try a soft reset too. And that reminds me...I'm gonna back mine up.
