How do I lock buttons and turn off screen without losing music?

I am using GSPlayer, but I don't care which player does this, but I can't figure it out. If I have the program turn off the display, the buttons press in the case or my pocket, if I lock the phone, the display stays on or wakes up and drains power. Anyone have this figured out?

Start Settings System Button Lock...make Sure The Top One Is Checked Lock All Buttons But Power Button.

i also recommend s2u2, if you use that you can put a shortcut in the htchome today screen and i just minimize the player and push that button whenever playing music.
