Why, in the middle of the day, will activesync suddenly run.
 
I'll browse the web for a min or check email and activesynce is running? Why is that?

yea, not unusual for me either. maybe it has something to do with checking your e-mail? or maybe it just does as stated above.

used to annoy the hell outta me as well
FIX:
change your schedule under activesync to "manual" then go
start menu, settings , phone, service tab, Time synchronization -> get settings, and uncheck "Time Synchronization with mobile network automatically"

i could swear there is a registry edit for this but i cant find it now. Does anybody else remember that???

Found the answer at xda

1. Download any program TASK Manager/Resco Explorer/Memaid etc.
2. Find the NOTIFICATIONS menu (or Notified Programs).
3. Find <repllog.exe> it will have several types listed. Find the one that says<AppRunAfterTimeChange>
4. Highlight and Delete only this file and not the other two. The only time Activesync should start now is when you sync to your PC.

Where is this "Notifications" folder located? I have been searching and have had no luck so far. I'm assuming it is IN another folder, but which one? I didn't see it in "Windows".
