I've been looking up and down the forums for this but is there a way to sync your phone using vista home premium?

im not using home premium, but my vista can sync. it is very very buggy, but it does technically work, why doesn't your phone work? did you download the windows mobile device center (WMDC):

I am using Vista Ultimate and it seems to sync fine with my Mogul. I even tried BT connection the other day- just very slow.

What kind of problems are u having?

I use Vista Business at work and Vista Home Premium at home. From time to time the PC (either one) will not recognize my Mogul. A reboot of the PC has always fixed it.

I was able to sync my phone once using Sync Center 6.1 in Vista and restore my contacts and etc but it will not sync anymore.

I am getting the following error message: Support code: 0x86000107

I have removed and reinstalled Windows Mobile Device Center twice, rebooted the phone and done all of the normal tricks but still no luck with synching again.

Does anyone have any ideas or fixes? Forgot to menition I am running OMJ 6.1 ROM.

usual suspects/fixes for me are (usually in this order):

start > settings > connections > usb to pc > uncheck enable advanced network functionality.
soft resets/computer restarts
delete partnership in wmdc
uninstall/reinstall wmdc
hard resets (this is usually my last resort)

it has become so annoying for me that i usually dont sync that often (sadly i dont get new phone numbers often enough for that to be a problem, haha, but updating the calender more often would be nice)

mail2web is also always an option

also, google searching on error codes is usually helpful:

from briefly reading through those results, it looks like you need to delete the partnership in wmdc

If I uncheck Contacts, Calendar & Task I can sync with the emails in my Outlook. I have tried only selecting Contacts, Calendar & Task and none of them will sync, but only when i have Email select by itself.

Again I've removed WMDC, deleted the Sync center, deleted the partnership and I'm getting the same results.

Any ideas? Sugguestions?

did you try:

start > settings > connections > usb to pc > uncheck enable advanced network functionality

that's created some problems for me in the past

sounds like you are where i have once been.... i eventually gave up and went with the hard reset (i was looking for an excuse to upgrade to wm 6.1 anyways). so yea, i think you're beyond my level of experience, hopefully some of the more senior members will be able to help you out (which im sure would be helping a lot of us vista users out in the future).

Well, WMDC is a pain, but probably a tad better than ActiveSync.

What I would do is, you have to registry edit, delete the partnerships on both the PC and the PDA. The phone should then revent to a virgin partnership state and you get the option of re-establishing the partnership.

If this appeals to you, prior to a hard resent that essentially accomplishes the same thing, just do a Google search on the registry settings involved.. too long for me to copy by hand.

Good luck... it really is terrible software... but I have no other choice to synch my music and podcases... WinAmp is even worse.

That reminds me, if you use iTunes, which I do with WMDC and WMP11 (what a mess)... and you do automatic updates... surprise you will get Safari installed on your computer automatically. Who is worse, Apple or Microsoft, it is a toss-up in my opinion.

Removed and reinstalled WMDC and reloaded OMJ WM6.1 ROM...problem resolved.

I had this problem with my 6700 with Vista as well I'm running Vista Ultimate at 32bit at home and my cpu is brand new so it works. First what you (should do is download a version with an updated driver for Wmdc from here http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...icecenter.mspx) Make sure you download the correct one in my case it was English 32-bit. Go ahead and isstall that and you should be fine assuming that you have already set up a sync patnership through activesync (NOTE: Activesync and Windows Mobile Device Center are seperate programs) You should be able to find both of them in under start menu control panel if you are running vista. If you have NOT set up a sync partnership with your device you'll need to click on ActiveSync and click the Set up new Sync Partnerships link on the left with your devie connected to your pc or laptop of course via usb. with my first cpu I had to turn the firewall setting to off for the first 5 or 6 time I tried to connect so be sure to try that as an option with my new cpu I didn't have too so it seems the some of the updates vista downloads everyday have paid off a bit. Anyhow hopefully this has help in some sort PEACE!!!!

I have had problems in the past too and deleting the partnership and resyncing always fixed it, if a simple reboot of the Vista PC did not.

One would think that since Microsoft made Vista and Windows Mobile that it would work a little better... but I guess not!

I tried to install activesync on my new laptop that has Vista Home Premium and its 64 bit and it wouldn't install. I then tried downloading the WMDC and again wouldn't install. So after that I downloaded the drivers but couldn't find the 64 bit version of the actual program just the drivers. Can someone help me out? Thanks.

I can't find the program though, all I can find its the drivers for it. The only program I found was for the 32 bit and it wouldnt install on my laptop.

I upgraded to a new vzw xv6800 (titan) and vista synch finds the device but I can't find an option to synch my old data to the new device. megasloth's website has no help on this issue and the vzw tech did'nt know how. any help?
